Hey, I need help,Um, I got frizzy hair? Like, afro hair, and my hair is like, probably 3 inches length. I need help relaxing it.
And I don't want to go to the salon and do it, what do I need to do, to do it at home?
What stuff do I need? Someone told me, when you get out the shower, to use gel and a brush, but IDK. I just want to experiment with differnt styles, and my hair now, just regular frizzy hair is really getting on my nerves, and I dont want to cut my hair off, cause, Im sick of having short hair. Anyway, so what do I need to use? Remember, I dont want to go to the salon, I want to do it at home. By myself .
Please help. Thanks.

First of all i think since it's your first time it's better to get it done at the salon but anyway.
1. You need to buy a relaxer obviously i'm not sure on which one you are planing to use but i'd go for dark and lovely that one is always good. And if your hair is really thick which i think it is then take the super relaxer.
2. You should put vaseline around the outline of your head that is near the ends of your hair so that if the relaxer goes on your skin it doesn't burn.
3. You should follow the instructions and mix the two thingy bobs that you need to mix together. Make sure you read carefully and mix the right things otherwise you will wreck your hair.
4. After that you put your hair into 4 sections and apply the relaxer (make sure you apply on the roots of your hair otherwise your hair won't be straight near the end). Apply the relaxer especially around the outside of your hair (the roots not the ends). You the rest of relaxer to apply to the rest of the hair aim for the hair.
5. Comb the roots of your hair ESPECIALLY around the outside of your hair. Wait until it starts burning or if your impatient wait 20-25 minutes.
6. Read teh instructions and use the correct shampoo. Rinse your head properly to make sure all the relaxer is out. After that start putting the shampoo in DONT put all of it in at once( it might seem small but it is a lot). After that keep shampooing your hair until its not pink anymore. for example when you're rinsing it out you should look at what colour it is.
7. Read the rest of the instructions which will just tell you to put in the leave in conditionner.
8. If you have it you shoudl use a blow dryer that that that comb at the end it makes your hair even straighter. If you don't have it comb your hair while blow drying it.
9. Finally, put some hair oil to make it healthier and also spray some hair oil in as well to make it look shinnier. Then if you have a straightner straighten your hair to make it thinner.
Cant believe i typed all that. Hope i helped.

I'm not being helpful here I know, but I never figured out why anyone would not want to have an afro if they were able to. Afros are awesome as long as they're not the wire-tight ones that haven't been combed at all.

No i still think they look good either way and im sure the 'wire tight' ones have in fact been combed but appear like they aren't. Althought i do agree that the long ones look really much better.

That's what I mean.
You might want to get a really good one though.
1. It'll work better.
2. It won't dry out your hair even more.

i'm growing one right now, sort of 40% complete. Everytime I see someone with an afro it inspires me.

Yah, I like afros. But, I someone told me, that when you use it, if you dont like it, just wash your hair and it will go back to a afro. I just wanna do this hair style for my show, I have a show on youtube.

Okay first off, NEVER use a brush.
It will only make your frizz condition worse.
Use a wide tooth comb.
You should also go into a beauty supply shop and buy hair product specifically for frizzy hair (or curly if your frizzy hair is caused by really really tight curls which sometimes is the case). Its specially formulated to help add some weight to your hair to control it a little when it dries.
After washing your hair, comb through it til its straight. That will take care of the knots and leave your hair better looking than if you don't. After that, place in some leave in conditioner. Use hair gel on the ends and if you find gel just isn't enough also use hairspray to keep your hair together.
Try it on a free day where you know you won't go out in public and see how well it works for you. If you need to add something to the routine or take something out, go ahead.
