So I've been agonising over this for a night and a day now, and it's time to get second opinions.
I'm getting a tattoo of a latin phrase on my lower back in Black Letter Calligraphy (http://www.calligraphy-service.com/Black%20Letter%20Alphabet.jpg).
The phrase is, "Damnant quod non intellegunt". Now, I simply cannot decide whether I should have a capital 'D' or a lowercase 'D'.
A capital 'D' looks natural and everything, because everyone knows that in the english language, the first letter of a sentence is capitalised.
But my tattoo is supposed to be art.. you're meant to look at it like you would at art, it's meant to be aesthetically pleasing rather than meant to be read. So maybe the capital 'D', then, would make the phrase look asymmetrical. BUT I really like how the capital 'D' looks.. so I can't decide what to do.
Opinions please? Do you think a capital 'D' would look asymmetrical?
Note: I do not want opinions about the nature/content of my tattoo.
