Yesterday I was talking about this goth girl at my school who I'm planning on asking out with my best friend, and he asked me what clique I would consider myself in. Me and my friends aren't really in any "cliques", but we all dress kinda different. Well he said he was prep, my brother is emo, and asked me what I think I am. I really had no clue what to say, so he told me he would consider me in the "smart person clique" (exact words: "I would say you're a, not nerd, but a smart person, like one of those quiet guys who are really smart..." He told me that for some reason goth girls like that. So I'm not sure how to take that lol......is that a good thing? Does anyone know what he means by that?

At my high school there were nerds and then the 'smart' people. The smart people were those who were involved in school activities, made decent grades, and generally had their life together. They didn't do drugs, didn't party all the time, were planning to go to college and make something of themselves, etc.

The girl never said this, I was talking about the girl, not to her. That wasn't even an important part, that just lead to the conversation. She's kind of goth, so we started talking about cliques. Everyone tells me she likes me...that's not an issue. But I'm realizing that my friend might see me as kind of a nerd (he's the one who said it). He said that I'm like the quiet smart type, and goth girls like that for some reason...Idk if that's true, but I'm not exactly sure what he meant by that.

Well I don't really fit that lol. I get all A's, I'm not really involved in a lot of school activities (like 1), I do have my life together, I don't do drugs, I party (but not like drinking and sex partying) lol like I never come home until midnight or later (on school nights). I pretty much never do homework or study at home (I do it all in school the period before) unless I need to type it or if it's a big project, I am planning to go to college and make something of myself (maybe like a doctor or something). So that's some info about me......I guess I fit half of what you described.

We were mainly referring to dress style though.

I think they're cute.....I mean yea they overdo it sometimes.....the girl I'm talking about isnt like crazy baggy black pant with huge chains hanging off of it with a big black trench coat and spiked up dyed hair who looks like she can stab me with it.....she wears black all the time and stuff.....It's good goth, not bad goth. I like the slight emo/goth look.
