so this idea came to me while watching the trailer for the movie Wanted (http://filmthreat.com/index.php?section=videos&Id=1447&play=2)
Wanted is a comic book by Mark Millar about a fraternaty of supervillians who rule the world, having long defeated all the superheroes and brainwashed everyone into forgeting they ever existed. the movie has nothing to do with any of this as far as i can tell.
now, some people may be thinking that they did this because they wanted to avoid the inherant rediculousness of Wanted's genre, (superheroes) but the comic book is a nihilistic, horrible, terrifying and gruesome book with a dark sense of humor and a strange morality. characters like the vile Mister Rictus and Shithead will be either completely gone or mutated into something toned down and mellow, but Wanted's entire plot is about excess and it's humor lies in it's oddity.
Anyway, i'm sure lots of people are going to flock to see this and a bunch of people are going to think it's amazing, and perhaps i'm being a fanboy by calling it out for not sticking to what it's about, but i just think it's important for people who plan to see this movie, to know that the vision of Wanted, for good or ill, is not represented on screen here.
