Hey i have to write this poem for school and i just wanted to get some comments and see if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks!


I celebrate myself, I sing myself,
Though I am nothing exquisite.
But I have found the man worth living for
and to him I am perfect.

At times I find life boring.
So I spend my time with books.
In those pages I find a world unlike my own.
The break from reality is refreshing.

I wish to further my education,
And to share that knowledge with others.
To mold the minds of young children who may one day
be the new president thrills me.

My family is important, they rise above all.
My mom is like my rock, the shoulder on which I lean on.
Without her my dreams and wishes would be lost forever.

We all cant go down in history.
Not all of us can be the next Einstein or famous rocker.
Some of us are just contributing factors ,
That help make the great ones greater.
I feel that’s my goal in life. My reason for existence.

Simple, pure, and to-the-point. Everything poetry should be.

I agree with the ethos as well. In today's child-like society, far too much strain is put on 'being original'. Those happy in the quotidian should be admired most of all.
