Be more specific. It IS a whole country you know? That's like saying, anyone like US fashion? I think it's awesome.

I think it's cool. It's awesome because everyone has their own unique style and it seems like everyone dresses differently - also mixes different patterns and textures together and doesn't care if it matches or not.

depends
some of it can be sickeningly awful and whack
some of it's rather neat

exactly.
You're Generalizing a country.
Anyway. I hate gyarus. And gothic lolitas.
I like plain lolitas, and cutesy stuff. I also like the anekei style.

Yeah, it depends on what Japanese fashion you are talking about. Gothic lolita and Sweets are kawaii. ^_^

exactly.
You know guys, this is a form of racism, even if you are complimenting.
You're generelizing a country.
how the fuck?
How does generalising a country = racism
and how does complimenting a country = racism
I dont see any ill intent.

Okay I guess it's not racism, but it is a hasty generalization that isn't really true. It gets kind of annoying when people assume that everyone is the same.

I agree.
Generalizing a country = stereotyping, not racism.
That was a stupid comment, JR.

Well, I was confused as well. Some of it is really cool, and some is...eh, I don't get it. But it's just like any other country, I guess. There's different stuff.
I'm on this website: http://www.japaneselifestyle.com.au/fashion/fashion.html to look up some stuff about it. I hope all the information is right.

Ooh I got to wear a traditional kimono the other week! It was really pretty, but it took about two hours to get on. The tight shoes made my feet purple, as well...

their streetwear is nice although it's mostly inspired by NY/LA.
their premium jeans are fuckin great though. always like $300 but they're worth it if you know the lengths they go to to make it.
very good mainstream clothes too. Uniqlo is my new favorite store.
japanese clothes just fit me better because of my body type i guess. all the clothes are just cut nice and slim.

I freaking love UNIQLO! It's like a cheap GAP with Japanese clothes<3
Have you been to Shibuya 109? Probably not since it's all girl's clothing... But it's the greatest mall ever!!!

No, it is inspired by NY/LA. They just look better in it ;]
It really depends on the style though...
Not everyone dresses like lolitas, and not everyone dresses like a gyaru.

I can't say I'm a big fan of Japanese fashion. Of course, it's hard to like or dislike the fashion in general of the WHOLE country. I mean, it's not just one state or one city, it's a WHOLE COUNTRY. And each part has their own fashion, their own slang, etc. I think people often think of Japan as a whole all the time. Like most of the crazy fashion statements are in Shibuya ONLY. Other places like Osaka, it's really more laid back.
I do have to say that a lot of stuff in Japan is CUTE and maybe a little bit too BOLD for me. Hearts! Stars! Colors! Polka Dots! Stuff like that. It's cute, but a lot of it isn't too much my style, there's just too much going on.
They definitely have SUPER cute accessories though! Whenever I go there I always stock up on bracelets, earrings, necklaces, cell phone straps, etc. Another thing I absolutely love are the handbags! Hehe, super cute bags you really can't find here. And they are roughly about $100-$200. The bras are to DIE for. I love the jeans because they fit me good since I'm so skinny, and well, American sizes are always pretty damn big.
The fashion works on them, cute and bold. It's just not my style per-say.
I went to the site ---> http://www.japaneselifestyle.com.au/fashion/fashion.html
And it's interesting....too out there for me and I can honestly say out of the 15 times I've been to Japan, I've only seen 5 girls TOP that actually dressed like that. But then again, I haven't really been to the crazy places like shibuya. But just so you guys don't think all Japanese people are running around like that....well, because they aren't!
There's my essay for ya. Damn, I just remembered I have Japanese hw! Lmao.

I love the over cuteness of it. Cuteness > Sexiness.
I love bra shopping in Japan, because I have such a bigger breast size there! I'm like a B here, but in Japan I'm a C70. It makes me so happy :) And it's cute<3 I don't like the fact that they're superpadded though.
The last four times I went to Shibuya I saw no one dressed like that. But then again, it was a weekday...
