What are your views about them? For those of you who don't know what it is, here is a picture.171957 this is a smiley piercing, it shows usually when you smile...hence the name.

I personally think they're kinda gross. My friend randomly has one (well, I don't really talk to her anymore cause she....nevermind) and she said it really hurt to get done. And like, you probably couldn't change them yourself..cause the skin is so delicate. I'd be afraid to at least.

in general i love piercings (have ten) but i really dont like the idea of that one. It looks painful and the idea of it being ripped out is horrible.

When I first started getting into piercings I said I would never get a smiley/frowny/tongue web.


a few months later I'd been swayed and I got a smiley, I had it done with a BCR/CBR and it looked awesome but I kept chewing it and it migrated really badly, I could fit 2mm/12g barbells through it even though it was pierced at 1.2mm/16g. I took it out in April and the hole hasn't shrunk much though it doesn't show and I would have it done again, but for now I have my tongue web pierced.

It was my second least painful piercing out of all the 18 I've ever had, close 2nd to my septum.

and fyi I could change it by myself, it didn't rip, it's just awkward to do, if you ever get it done get it high up and don't chew it!

In what sense, if it's about having something under your lip you get used to it being there, I have 4 piercings in and around my mouth, I often don't feel them at all but if I were to take them out I would notice.

Awesome feedback. Sorry i didn't respond till now. My boyfriend told me he would kill me if i got it done haha. He hates the idea of a needle going into my mouth ( he hates the dentist, and it reminds him of it). I think they interesting. My friend Rachel did it herself and said it only pinched and hurt a lot less than what you would think. And they do show when you smile. hence the name, smiley.

I think it's funny how people think all the extreme piercings hurt. The ones that I get asked about painwise most of the time are my septum and tongue web, my least painful ones too, that I have in at least

Since last posting I've had another two, both DIY... first attempt was wonky. Second attempt was better and I managed to get a BCR in, which was nice. Kept it for around a month or so then the ball came out when I was at college so I just took it out... only to find that it had ripped a little at the side.

I miss it more than my vertical snakebites.

And my tongue web :(

Oh no not at all.. Give it a week and you barely even notice it's there. But after that you notice when they're not there!

They don't appeal to me aesthetically, plus I think they'd get annoying, hanging on your teeth all the teeth.

What's a frowny piercing?

I depends on the person who has it.
My friend Jake has one, and it's alright.
But he has basically his whole body pierced, so it makes sense for him to have it.

If you do get it, get a small barbell or something.
The hoops would irritate the shit out of you.
Not to mention, probably ruin your teeth.

Barbells are easier to hide, but the hoops do look cool.
Yes, the CBR does erode the enamel in your teeth, but then you can just switch it up every once and a while.

It looks alright, in my opinion.
But that skin is so delicate, I'd be wayy to scared of it ripping out.

i wanted my smiley done but i didn't want a ring and they said barbells werent very good for your gums.

1. its rediculously swolen at the moment.
2. its hard to make pulling down your lip look attractive.
but when i say 'GRR' or i frowny or bent down, you can see it. and thats a tiny bar and ill be having a bigger one when its healed.

the only problem is it leaves indents in your gum which im coping with.
i love it otherwise
