My boyfriend has really curly hair, and he's been thinking about getting it chemically straightened. I don't know much about it, but I was thinking about taking him to do that for his birthday. But anyways..I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it, like how much it costs, how well it works, etc. Thanks.

It's not that expensive if you have short hair, but it's not worth doing if you're a guy because guy's hair grows out really fast so his roots will be curly, and his ends will be straight, and it will look really bad. When the hair is longer, the weight of the hair weighs down the new hair and so the difference between the straightened part and the new curly parts isn't as visible.

Not worth it.

you have to leave it long to maintain it straight because hair follicles mantain their dna structure and you can't ever change dna.

So. They said, the longer the hair, the less noticable.

Did you miss the part about guys cut their hair more often than girls?

It's a waste of money, but if he really wants to then go for it. About.........$200?
