View Full Version : Why so narrow minded?

I mean, I thought the days where you had to follow a certain fashion were over. You claim to want unique style, but in a mass you'd all look the same.
So I ask myself, why the hell so narrow minded? Why not play and take out your childhood self?
And why, if someone does it, do you have to discriminate and hate?

I've got a perfect example for that.. I dyed my hair red, I wear a ninja head band and a blue necklace. It's my signature look.
I run around pretending to be a ninja for fun, but if you try having a serious conversation with me you'll realize I'm not mad.
I have a red purse with white dots on. I got it from my sister, she lives in Norway, me in The Netherlands. So it feels great using it, because to me it's a memory of her.
Anyway.. Whenever I go out I hear girls whispering and talking shit about me due to the way I look. Yesterday I even had to deal with the embarrassment of having someone else tell me.. Some girl in the back of the line was having a long conversation about how ugly my clothes and my hair looked, while waiting to pay.
Why is it so hard to deal with not everybody looking the same?

For what it's worth I think your hair is fuckin amazing! I'd love to go that red but I can't find a decent dye. Might have to go mooching!

I know what you mean though... I hate the 'In' look. People are sheep who wear what they're told looks hot even if it's ugly as sin. Then someone who dares to be different gets flamed even if they actually look a hell of a lot better in they're clothes than the supposedly fashionable people!

omg i think i agree. like all the teens here in the us al wear hollister shit and they all look like they came from the beach even in the summer. like even when you see a whole crowd of them all wear the same preppy beach crap! that is not fashionable though.

My hair's red, but not as bright as yours :)
And I have a red and white polkadot bag that my mummy made for me.
I have the same problem, with people thinking I'm immature and stuff because I wear bright colours and what I want. It's ok to wear things that not many people would, it just shows you have more imagination and the ability to express yourself through clothing.

I hate feeling like I'm wearing what everyone else is.

I tried to dye my hair red... It's neon orange instead ^^

People always moan about everything. Its because they're people

Well, I like your hair.

I like your hair too. Its nice.

I like to be different but not eccentric. I already get people telling me I'm too babyish. I'm mature god damn it!
Sorry that those girls were talking about you, they only do it to make themselves feel better.

maybe people do dress the way they want to, it just happens to be what other people like aswell?

i have a hard time finding clothes i like because most shops only have clothes in fashion, and its normally not my taste.

Makes no sense. It means I'm obsessed with an anime show, and I'd love to be in it.

Well I guess you could say I'm unique. I have 21 piercings, all visible and all above the neck. Yeah, I get a lot of shit from people for it. I mean, I don't care whether they like how I look or not, I just think it's really sad, how close-minded people are. They might think I look disgusting, but I love how I look, and I love that I don't fit stereotypes. It makes me happy. :)

Maybe we should start an Alternative Fashion thread?
This whole board is about Abercrombie or whatever it is and it's boring boring boring.

I SO agree. Gah, with the long blonde hair and the American Eagle flip flops and Hollister tops. Ick. I had enough of that shit all throughout high school.

People are narrow minded because they are so used to doing what everyone else does that it seems wierd to do anything else. And the only reason I can figure that they want to do what everyone else does is that if they don't take chances, they can't make mistakes...: / Like if your dressed like everyone else who is there that could possibly make fun of what you're wearing.
