I'm reading up on septum piercings, but I want to hear from people that have them.
I think a septum would be the perfect piercing for me.
I don't want my face scarred up, and I don't want to gauge it. I just want a regular little old septum. A tiny cute one.

I can flip it up and hide it if I want, and whos gunna be looking in my nose anyway?

Thoughts?

They're awsome. My friend has one. He had it for five months before his parents found out about it. One day after school he forgot to flip it up. They were pissed, but oh well. You should totally get one :)

I think it looks cute, if its small. And you can hide it.

I'm trying to look up more info, what are the risks?

What are the cons, pros?

thanks people.

I went with my best friend to get one. They had to put a bigger one in at 1st and then she had to come back in like a week and get the smaller one put in. It looked like it hurt really bad & she cried. She had to hide it from her parents & they never found out. (although, her parents are pretty stupid lol) I think you have to be really pretty, to pull it off cuz I've seen it on some people and it just makes them look masculine & beastly.

I just did my own septum piercing a few days ago. I'm wearing it flipped up around my parents, and they have no idea. If you get it through the right spot, it really doesn't hurt as bad as a lot of people say it does. With mine the needle went through pretty easily, i inserted the jewelry, and it never even bled a drop of blood. Made my eyes water really bad, though. But it hasn't been sore, and i've just been cleaning it with q-tips. Pretty simple.

I wanted one too!
Question though to people who are experienced. What does flipped up mean though?

You flip the ring upside down so it is actually inside your nose, so noone can see it.

Flipped up means flipped up. If you wear a circular barbell, septum retainer, or a CBR without the bead in it, you can flip it up inside your nose so that it isn't visible.

Its the one that makes men cry... Not that it hurts that much. My friends swelled up a bit, and she complained that it felt like someone had punched her in the nose for a bout a week. I like them, but I've decided I have the wrong sort of nose... and I'm saving my money for my lip piercings..

the reason it makes you tear up is because the place they pierce through sends an instant message to your tear ducts acording to the piercer my friend had.. I've been with 2 peope while they got it done.. the say the only real problem arises when you have a cold and its still healing cause it just really hurts. but that was there only complaint.

It really isn't that bad. Mine hasn't really even been sore. It just hurt going through, but not as bad as everyone says it does... Either these people talking about feeling like they were "punched in the face" are total wimps, or they have really SUCKY piercers. Even doing it MYSELF i still managed to get it in the right spot. My septum hasn't even been sore, unless i bump my nose or something.

I was the extremely lucky one.

My septum didn't hurt a bit, my eyes didn't water and I didn't feel like sneezing.

He was putting the clamps on then I started to feel them pressing, but it turns out it was the needle, it was done within seconds!

Had it done at 10g and as Stasha might know I preach the 10g goodness :) It's the main advice I give to people: get it done at 10g cause it rules.

Had it done middle of may and my mum found out a few days ago.

Shouldn't normally go through cartilidge, unless you're one of those people with that sort of nose.

Can carlu fit anything interesting through her nose yet? You should stretch a bit.. to pencil size

Personally I find them a tad nasty. They remind me of a bull with a ring through it's nose!

Are earskins hard to get in? they seem a bit fiddly for little holes. But I need something new for my lobe, and I want to bump my next order up to £10 too...

The 3.2 is is fiddly, but I'd say about 5mm and up is ok, maybe even 4.

6 is pipsqueak!
