to be faced with such longing is torturous
even moreso to see the look of indifference on your face
familiarity enfolds you and you forget everything
well i’m not so lucky, as i obviously portray
words once spoken are missing
from the recent array of hope
and while i collect each sorrow spinning memory
in the bursting jar that is my heart
no one notices a leak in my sanity.
each minute that ticks by
is one more minute away from what once was
and that’s where i want to be
where everything just stops
and lack of memory will come to me
as simply as it does you.
