They just come across as personas to me. :shrug: Like in acting, star personas, etc. And to be honest? Musicians... what about performers? I just discovered recently, that to be an artist, you play for yourself, whereas performers, you play for other people. So, my point?
If you're a performer, you are putting yourself, a persona, on the line... to be shunned by society and the media, and to gain fame, and yet.... what, in reality, do you gain out of it? Nothing, except... your own identity taken away from you, you are lost in a world where celebrities can't do anything without the media being there, even your own "private" life would be intervened.
