People will argue and say it's "the best time of your life". I disagree. At my school, people usually stay at cottages near the lake for a week around prom. Yeah, I definitely plan on doing that. Now, I'm graduating HS in two years, but my friend went to to the lake where all the seniors are and they said that they stayed for one song and left. And one girl bitched about how her dress was $400. I definitely don't see the point in spending that much on your dress, makeup, hair, and then the ticket, as well as the price of going to the lake (if you choose to). Seems like a huge waste to me. Even if you do have an okay time. I'd rather just have an awesome time at the lake and be able to have more spending money and stuff.

true dat... true dat...

it's too much money to spend on one thing... especially the dress which u will only wear once.
and at my school the actual dance is incredibly boring... usually they just take pictures and hang with their friends until the after prom.

i think it's a waste but at the same time i think it would be fun.

i'm not gonna go to my junior prom but i plan to attend my senior just to see what it's like.

I didn't go to mine. I was ill on the day :selfvomit:

I wasn't that fussed about the actuall event anyway. But it sucks that i missed it. And everyone has photos and stories and memories and i'm like ....... hm yeah okay shush now.

If i were you i'd go.

........ or go to the lake - i didn't read that part! Lake sounds awesome. Especially if it's like with loads of people because it's not like you're missing out..

I went to a prom this year. It wasnt my own, it was this guy who liked me who invited me to his. I had him pay for mostly everything, but I bought the dress, it wasnt expensive though. It was pretty cool though, I had fun. The prom after party was cool too =]

I guess I personally liked it cuz when I dropped out of school 2 years ago everyones like aw now youre gonna miss out on prom and all that shit later on...and i got to go anyways :) So I guess its kind of an "in your face BITCHES i dropped out and STILL got prom" kind of feeling haha.

Oh yeah, EVERYONE goes pretty much. People from other schools, people that are older, people that are younger. It seems like a blast because there's parties every night for a week. Wish I coulda went this year, but oh well.

I think it's pointless, of course I'm a guy and have to pay for everything...

Although all my friends think it is worth it because the girl is forced to put out in their minds...
I'm not much of a fan of paying thousands of dollars to dance(which I hate) and sex.

I hated my prom. It was so not worth all the money or time I invested into it.
After prom was at a bowling alley and was a lot of fun.
And the weekend of prom we went to Cedar Point (amusement park) which was fun also.
