So ever since 6th grade(im in 11th now) my skin has been gross and horrible. I feel like i have tried everything. Every once in awhile i can get it perfectly clear and it looks good...except for the scars on it now. So my question is what do you guys use, how do you get rid of the scars and keep your face clear for good how do you make it less oily and look less oily. Please help i have battled this long enough, i want the dermatoligist(sp) to be the LAST resort..its not exactly cheap.
I would appericate your help sooooo much
thanks

I have had the same problem. I've gone to the doctors and gotten prescriptions, though really I still have acne. In the summer it gets worse with the heat, so watch out for that. All I can say is keep washing it. Don't over do the medication otherwise your skin may become "addicted" to it. Just fine a nice wash that cleans out the pores. Have you tried Pro-active?
Also, if you work around grease a lot that probably would have an effect on it too..sun and grease not good for sensitive skin.

Also watch out with makeup. I can't wear any on my face because it is soo sensitive.

I never have problems with my skin.....I maybe get 2 pimples a year....and theyre small. And its not oily...and not dry. I think its because I dont use a bunch of products on my skin, and I drink ALOT of water.
So if you wanna try what I do cuz it seems to work
Wash with a neutrogena soap facial bar....just the plain, original formula.
Moisturize with clean n clear ultra light oxygen moisturizer.
Drink about a gallon of water a day.
Dont wear foundation, powder, or anything like that.
And the soap is like 3 bucks at wal-mart and the moisturizer is like 7, so it wont cost a thing =]
For the scars....I dont know, maybe microdermabrasion? And try oil blotting sheets.

Go to the dermatologist, they work miracles.
Or if you're a girl, go on birth control.. it will cause your hormones to be regulated and what not and your face will clear up for sure.

use tea tree oil its an anti septic this face wash it brill i use it when im due on coz my skin gets overly oily and its really works.Tea Tree Oil Facial Wash (http://www.thebodyshop.co.uk/invt/13539&bklist=icat,4,shop,sc,scteatree) you need to tone!! speshially as you have oily skin [toner closes the pores up so if u put moisturriser on after cleansing your pores suck the moitsure in resulting in blemishes & oily skin also it tightens the pores so tighter pores mean no excess oil after continuious use] theres a tea tree toner too Tea Tree Toner. (http://www.thebodyshop.co.uk/invt/13873&bklist=icat,4,shop,sc,scteatree) now after you've cleansed & toned you need to moisturise there a tea tree one too Tea Tree moisture gel (http://www.thebodyshop.co.uk/invt/12313&bklist=icat,4,shop,sc,scteatree) this moisturiser is brill for oily skin as well as moisturinsing the skin it mattes the skin at the same time so its moisturise the bits that need it and wont over moisturise the its that dont.
for once a week treatment there is an Tea Tree Mask (http://www.thebodyshop.co.uk/invt/13721&bklist=icat,4,shop,sc,scteatree) that draws out the impurites from the skin and refines the pores.
also to help removes the dead skin cells which help to cause blemsihes, blackheads dull skin etc you need to exfoilate to leave them all off. Tea Tree Exfoilator (http://www.thebodyshop.co.uk/invt/13765&bklist=icat,4,shop,sc,scteatree) but you only use this once or twice a week other wise you will dry the skin out.
after you have done that you shouldnt wear alot of make up when you have really oily skin cause your just asking for trouble try an oil free foundation with spf15 to protect you from the sun and its harmful rays, go for a loose powder as its finer then pressed powder and wont clog up your pores.
i dont no how long you used your other products for, but with these skin care products i have recommended you have to use them con tinously for at least amonth to see a difference so dont give up!!!
p.s i didnt get this this information off the website i actually work for the body shop in the uk, i am a fully trained make up artist/ skin consultant for the body shop so if anybody has any questions jus pm me

for the scars try skin discoloration creme it's also called skin whittening creme sometimes but it doesn't whiten your whole face just the spot's or if thats to heavy for your face try lemon juice mixed with cucumber juice ang put it on your whole face for 15 min twice a day then wash it off it fades dark spots and the acid in the lemon helps to clear your skin another thing is to even if you have oily skin get a light mousturizer because sometimes if your skin is to dry it will produce extra oils and then you break out the mousturizer will feel heavy for a couple of days then your face will adjust . also concerning make-up a heavy foundation will just keep clogging your pores so you should try mineral powder foundation it seems like it wount cover up enough but it totally evens your skin tone and it's not really expensive j.a.n.e. brand only cost like $6.50

have you tried talking to your regular doctor about it? if you're acne's extreme--like you need acutane-- there's really nothing that anyone but a dermatologist can do. your regular doctor will probably prescribe you an antibiotic and a topical gel/cream. in most cases of acne the right combination of the two can make a big difference. differin and minocycline cleared my skin right up.

i use proactive
i used to have really bad skin in 6th grade
then in 8th grade i started using proactive
the proactive helps in healing scar
& to cover up marks that wont go away i use pyschians formula coverup
it doesnt make you break out & it rubs on evenly
it actually helps keep skin clear

best thing for scars is bio-oil but you say you dont want it to be oily and I think Bio-oil will make oily skin break out!
hmmm, Maybe you should go on the pill it will help you produce less sebum oil which generally cuases a pimple in the first place. Well Actualy Sebum oil builds up and then bacteria begin to form which then cuases a pimple kind of like an infection. I know many girls at my school who suffer from acne and then goes on the pill to reduce it.
NEVER ever go to bed with make-up on. At night your skin cells shed and re-new but if there is all this make-up on it blocking the pores and things it will prevent it from re-newing.
Try proactive too. I hear its good.
If you have oily skin dont ever use a cream allways use a lotion and even though you have oily skin it doesnt mean you should cut out moisturizer totaly. I know of very many good products however I dont think it will be avialable in the USA.
When your buying skin products remeber that sometimes cheaper is better and that even supermarket stuff is just as good as chemist products if not better. Its not about the price tag or the name.
Learn your ingredients. Go on google and try and find out what each ingredient does and which ingredients to avoid. For instantce you have oily skin aviod lanolin. This is a greasy oil found in sheepskin and put into lipsticks and put in moisturizers labeled for dry skin.
When you buy beauty products allways ensure its for your skin type. You dont ever drink todler milk so why would you buy sensitive skin products if you have oily skin?
As for the scars you can try Bio-oil or Palmers Cocoa Butter.
Heres a good article:http://www.ivillage.co.uk/health/beauty/surg/articles/0,,181478_183463,00.html
Anyways I suugest you search on google for acne scar home remedies, the internet has alot of free info!
Good luck anyways!

Don't use any topical face creams. I'm a guy, I've had horrible acne and now it is getting better, but not by using creams. Girls spend months using different creams and most find no solution or it just goes away. Best thing to do is wet a washcloth, a smooth one, with hot water. Squeeze all of the water out, and without it being too hot to where it will burn your skin, put compresses on your face. Compresses are just slow and steady taps on your skin. This action opens the pores naturally and releases oils. Then when you've done compresses to every area, wash all of the oil on your skin off. This takes time, but if you stop doing it, unlike topical medicines, your face won't get worse.
Make sure when it cools down, you reheat it with the water. This is to keep it warm. Remember not to make it hot enough to give you burns, which are worse than pimples.

Oh, yes, it definitely works, about a little bit faster than heat does. The only thing is, it causes dependency, and if you forget to use it as certain times it can get worse. If you have good memory, than try it out. Certain people have different side effects from creams. That's why I like heat, because there is no side effect of hot compresses as long as you don't burn yourself.
