I think hairspray will be worse then the original. I saw the original movie, and it was hilarious, and I loved it. Recently I saw that this one was coming out and it seems like their making a huge joke of it? Like the actors or over dramatic...(the plumper mom/daughter..they just don't seem to fit the original and how it should be) I dont know it just doesnt seem like it will be good, or it will just be a big joke.
Have you seen the original, and are you planning on seeing Hairspray?

I havent seen the original, though I do love musicals. Hairspray has had a successful Broadway run and I'm sure the movie will be alright. I plan on seeing the show (the play) this season and am looking forward to it.
as for the fact that it may be a dousched up version of the original, the original creator played a big hand in adapting it into a musical. This obviously doesnt necessarily make it good, but I'm glad he's up for the idea.

Amanda Bynes will be the only reason I would watch it, she's funny.

I really don't see how John Travolta can play Divine. It really doesn't make any sense to me. The Exec's made a huge mistake allowing him to be cast, in my opinion. Billy Bob Thornton, if he wanted to play it, would be perfect. I think Hairspray was one of Waters' worst films (but better than Cry Baby). The whole advertising of this film revolves around Travolta as a woman in a fatsuit. If it were Judge Reinhold in a fatsuit, ET would ignore it.

I'm excited for it. But, at the same time, all I do as of late is see movies. Pretty much everyday. I hate Houston.
(Explicatory side note: I go to College at UT in Austin and haven't lived at home since High School. But, apparently, my parents missed me.)

1. All the actors/actresses making fools of themselves with the diff hair
2.it has some really popular people in it Queen Latifa, Amanda Bynes etc
3. to see John Travolta playing a girl even though he's old he's hot
