Im getting a tattoo this summer...how bad does it hurt? was it worth the pain?

personally i didnt think it hurt to much, my industrial piercing hurt more, i think it was worth the pain!

Alot of people exaggerate the pain.

But some places hurt a WHOLE lot. But the general places, not so much.

Yeah it depends where you get it. My sister got one on her upper wrist and ribcage and both those spots hurt badly. But my friend got one on her shoulder and it wasn't bad at all. It mostly depends on location. And for most people, the pain's worth it. If it's not, then you're probably not really ready to get a tattoo.

Where are you getting it (what part of your body)?

I have one on my wrist, and it wasn't bad at all. It hurt, but not as bad as I thought it would.
I have another one on my hip kind of (more towards the front, under my stomach), and I thought it hurt pretty bad. Worse than my wrist.

It also depends on your pain tolerance. It could hurt to some people, but not to others.

for me it felt like someone was scratching a sunburn. any tattoo location near the spine/ribs hurts like hell though.

I am going to get one on my butt and maybe one on my lower stomach....like by my hips

I got one on my arm and it didn't really hurt very much. My friend got his nine of his toes tattooed, and he says that hurt a lot. So it depends!

Your butt shouldn't hurt too much. Fleshy sort of area and all that.

I think it's a waste of money though. They should atleast lower the price a bit.

I have one just to the right of my spine on my back near my shoulder and I didn't think it really hurt at all. As somebody said before, it felt similar to scratching.

I want to get one on my ankle... I'm assuming that's a pretty painful spot, since it's so close to the bone. Meh.
