So - What is "FAKE"?

I think fake is someone who tries to be what they are not.

I don`t have a photo. Because you cannot point out a person and call them fake.
You have to know who they are. Truely.

I knew this girl fairly well.
And during one month of being at a new school, she got pulled in with the "rocker" crowd. She tried dressing as one of them. I was also friends with that same crowd.
They are considered rockers because of the music they listen to(led zep, bob marley, sex pistols, misfits, etc). I asked her one day what kind of music she likes.
I know what she listens to at her house. Straight rap.
But she replied with, "simple plan. Good charlotte."
Those are the pop rock bands that rap stations play.

3 months later, she ditched the hardcore clothing and wore polo`s from Hollister. Wearing handbags from Aeropostle. Flip flops from old navy.

That is what I call fake.

personally - i think people can only be fake with their personality not apperence. but im curious on what people think a "fake" apperence is.

yeahh, she switches her groups of friends to much & tried to fit in by changing who she is. :rolleyes:

well generally a fake looking person to me is anyone who has unnatural traits about them...ie fake colored hair, fake boobs, fake tan...honestly though, call me a bitch or whatever but i find beauty in people taking action for themselves and changing in a way so they can feel beautiful in some form of the word. if that means fake ***** tits and bleach bottle hair, fine. if that means breast reduction and a new wardrobe, righteous.

I totally agree with you when you say "fake is in the eye of the beholder" becuase its true. personally - I don't think having fake nails or colored contacts or fake hair is fake, UNLESS you make them tacky. having very long fake nails in tacky neon colors with light blue contacts and very unnatural fake hair with caked on , like wayyy overdone, makeup is not fake, just unnatural.

Fake= anything unnatural.
Therefore, we are all fake.

Fake = not being able to pull off a look but still going with it anyway.

fake does not exist. you are a different person now after reading this thread; we all change constantly.

what most people would call fake is extensive effort put into change or someone's not having grown into their shoes yet.

Okay, fake in LOOKS? I guess it's like, wearing too much makeup, dying your hair a really unnatural color, getting a fake tan, straightening your hair everyday (or curling it). Just having looks that are completely artificial.

How is straightening or curling your hair every day fake, VanillaPolkaDot?

To me fake would be:
- Way to much make-up
- Bottle blonds
- Fake tans that look orange
- Fake boobs that you can tell are fake

If I saw someone with way blonde hair that doesn't look natural, tan that doesnt look right with their skin tone, a lot of makeup, esp. eyes

I think everyone is fake to an extent. Everyone does things that aren't truthful to their personality.

Appearance wise though, today I was at DQ with my friends and a girl was standing in front of us with really blonde extensions, orange skin, BLUE blue blue contacts, and bleached teeth. It was frightening.

nobodys really genuine these days. One way or another, we all fit into a little subculture and start molding to their shape

I would have to say
a fake looking person could be a really good friend.
My one friend always changes her hair, used to tan a lot.
I love her to death.
I was trying to figure out what kindof person I wanted to be when I was younger so I tried a lot of different styles, and I don't consider myself fake.

I want whiter teeth, slightly tanner skin and naturally lighter blonde hair (via sunlight)
But not to the point to were I look rediculous, because a lot of girls strive for something that guys want & as they see as "beautiful"
I always see, even on here, that guys are attracted to the "fake" looking girls.
Now what girl knowing that, wouldn't want to be fake looking?
BUT
I don't need to care what other guys think of me now because my boyfriend loves me the way I am. He hates those fakebake girls and that gives me reason to not care what other girls look like.

I think beauty is something more than the superficial, of course that has a lot to do with it,
but what I'm coming down to is that as long as you have a true personality, it shouldn't matter what you look like.

In terms of physical traits, breast implants, collagen injections, etc are fake as they are not native to your body. I don't consider make up fake, as that's a custom.
