Dirving it off a cliff is about the only "mod" that is suggestable for that car. But since you seem so dedicated to the cause, let me break it down for you a little.
MSD Igition - is not going to net you any power on top of what is already there. Higher-energy ignition works great for burning more fuel (and making more power) however coupling that with the car's stock ODB-II and Emissions Control system is going to accomplish about jack-squat since your sensors won't allow any extra fuel into the cylinders. GM's stock EDIS is just fine. You can program timing advance with a programming unit, but you can expect to spend about $300-500 dollars for a 5-10hp increase. Not worth it.
Nitrious? Don't make me laugh.
Edit: oh yeah, and you'll want to fix the rust by your fuel filler cap.
Turbo/SC kits for the 3400/3100 start at around $3.5-$5,000 dollars and the best you can hope for is a 30% efficency gain on an other-wise stock engine.
So in other words...don't bother. It's a fucking Malibu, and quite possibly one of the most boring cars ever manufacturered. Bland looks, poor brakes, and numb steering do not a fun car make. If you are looking for something "fast" you should save all the money you would otherwise spend on "mods" and buy a new car instead.

A 97 Malibu has NO aftermarket support. Even the 3400 V6 (Im pretty sure thats the motor in it) has no aftermarket support.
MSD will do nothing, stock ignition systems are VERY hard to improve upon unless your pushing MAJOR HP numbers.
I'm sure theres an EBAY body kit for the car, but please don't rice out a crappy car like a malibu. (actually I just checked and yes there is an ebay body kit)
Nitrous isn't at all necessary unless you plan on truly drag racing the car. (LEGALLY)
To my knowledge there are NO turbo kits for the 3400 motor. You would need one custom fab'd for you.
A tuner is also out of the question as no one supports the ECU in the car. (ebay power chips are scams but go ahead and buy 4)
Basically put theres no reason to try to mod the car for speed at all, theres NO aftermarket for performance for the car. Its also clear you watched WAY to many Fast and the Furious movies and have no idea what your doing to your car. Please next time really search and look about what you can do to your car VIA GOOGLE.
P.s. if you ever want to turbo a car you will need a full exhaust system (usually about 3") and a number of internal mods to prevent catostrophic engine failure.
If your serious about modding a car, get a new car with aftermarket support.
http://www.malibuclub.ca/forum/index.php for other modded malibus. You'll see 99% looks, 1" performance

Well i forgot to metion i have a shop capable of makingalot of stuff and i have all the tools u can imagine so i can make exahst systems and everyhting else, i know i would need to do alot to the car, but im not plannin on goin racing, in a leauge or ne hting, but i want a fairly fast street car, and im positive it will see the other side of 100 a few times, my dad has alot of connections in the racing world and is a machinist so he can make alot too, were ganna get steering parts for it to make the steering alot better, weve already got aftermarket brakes for it and there on the car. the problem with getting a new car is i dont have the money to do that. but they do make body kits for it on, www.kgsengineering.com and ive found other things on www.cardomain.com for that particular car. (but hey thanks for not bein total jerks like alot of people are) --Ty

...if you have access to all this shit I'd think you'd have enough money and sense to buy a car that isn't so shitty in the respect of modding up to go faster (or in general for that matter)

In that year? 3.1L. I don't think the 3400 was offered untill the new design came out in around 2002.

If you really want to "mod" your car, why don't you put a better engine in it, then go from there.
But really, spending $5,000+ on a junk car seems like a waste...

You might be right, and either way they don't make forged pistons or connecting rods for either engine so boosting it would be a great way to denonate the engine.
Even if they have access to a shop that can make "custom stuff" which is just about any shop, they can't make pistons and connecting rods and other ESSENTIALS to the build.
And seeing the other side of 100 is easy in the stock car, you just want it to get there faster. DONT! You'll become yet another TEEN DEATH STAT.
Street racing is for pussies and gays, dont do it

And gay pussies. The closest thing I'll ever do to it is putting ricers in their place...then again though that's hardly racing since it doesn't require you to go fast.
Sell it then get one ten years older..
Then i'll tell you what to mod.

If it's anything like the 3400 it has forged rods and hypererutectic pistons. They can take about 8-10psi before you start to see problems with them, and usually it's the ring lands that go.
Still the 3.x00 series of engines is not great for boost, unless it's a 3800 HD thats build for it. The head design is actully fairly good and they are aluminum, but it's the over-square bore that really wreaks havoc with things when you up the pressure. Also the VNH sucks.

That's like arguing.. not letting someone rape you is selfish because they are left horny and unsatisfied.
...why the fuck do you keep posting those exact words in random threads?
