Did anyone else see it opening night? Very awsome movie. Yes it was opinionated but was also full of facts.
I want to see it but on Bill Oriley's show The Oriely Factor, he said it was one big propaganda film aimed at one purpose and that was destroying bush.

I would say a good 30% of it was opinionated but the rest was backed up with cold hard facts on america's current politics.
Hmmm well bill oriley is a republican...i guess ill go see it tommorow it got rave reveiws.

Actually, Bill O'Reilly is an Independent. There's a difference. And he has criticized President Bush and many other Republicans as well as John Kerry and Democrats. And he has asked Michael Moore to come back on his show, which will be interesting because Moore can't even answer any of O'Reilly's questions.
And the film is actually a very fabricated piece of work. After seeing clips, and reading parts of what's in it from website after website, watching Moore's interviews etc etc etc...it IS one big propaganda film. It's not facts...it's almost all opinionated. For example:
"The most offensive sequence in "Fahrenheit 9/11"'s long two hours lasts only a few minutes. It's Moore's file-footage depiction of happy Iraq before the Americans began their supposedly pointless invasion. You see men sitting in cafes, kids flying kites, women shopping. Cut to bombs exploding at night.
What Moore presumably doesn't know, or simply doesn't care about, is that the building you see being blown up is the Iraqi Ministry of Defense in Baghdad. Not many children flew kites there. It was in a part of the city that ordinary Iraqis weren't allowed to visit - on pain of death. "

My two cents. I myself am still thinking about seeing it (even though I don't want to waste a penny on that man) just to see how ridiculous it is. Anyone who believes that trash should be laughed at.

I want to see it but only to a point, Michael Moore just irritates me with his bleeding heart bullshit where it's not necessary, and he often targets the wrong people to make look stupid.

Although, I can't stand Micheal Moore anymore(haha), I don't think you should throw away his movie by calling it trash.
Although it is one big propaganda opinionated film, you can't deny the fact that he does bring up good arguments and sheds light on information most tv stations/radio stations and what no chose not to.
When you watch the movie you just analyse what you're being told. Do you agree with what he's saying? Is it backed up or is it simply opinons? Has it been said before? If so, does he bring anything new?
Think for yourself.
Even though I don't agree with some of the things he says, what he does and how he does it I still respect him for going out there and trying to give all americans the other side of the story by making it accessible for everyone because everyone knows the media sure as hell isn't.

I did see Bowling for Columbine, and before I saw it, I had no opinion. After I saw it, I found that it was a waste of my time and I disagreed with him on almost everything. Putting things out of context and manipulating the minds of people isn't really what I call a documentary. I *have* considered on seeing this film, just to see this so-called 'other side of the story' when all I need is the New York Times. However, I don't plan on paying a cent on him.

That's the first time I've been told this...because usually my opinion is the one that sticks out like a sore thumb...especially in our particular age group.

I wasn't telling you to think for yourself, it was a general statement to everyone.
You can't get the whole story just by reading the New York Times. When you do a research what are you supposed to do? Look up different sources. The same thing applies for politics and current events.
It's one thing to say you disagree with what he's saying and it's an other to come up with counter arguments as to why you disagree with them.

Ok, sorry. I didn't mean to sound so harsh.
Oh, I was just using the NYT as an example. I usually go on Drudgereport because there are links to numerous papers, websites from the states, Europe, etc etc. There are things that are found so early and things that you never hear anywhere else. What's great about Drudgereport is that it also has 'flashbacks' to what politicians have said a year or even 10 years ago.
I get what you say on disagreeing, but I tend to stay away from an actual debate on the internet (they tend to get no where, and all I've gotten out of them personally is being called 'ignorant', a facist, or a nazi). I have every respect for Michael Moore giving his 'opinion'. He is a very clever man, in a way that he has begun to believe his own lies.
I'm done. :)

I agree, he's just as bad as any politician. That being said, I don't think you can ignore what he has to say, you just need to take it with a grain of salt.
What's the link to the Drudgereport site?

Oh, trust me, I don't ignore it. I am usually more than willing to watch interviews with him.
http://www.drudgereport.com - It's amazing. Although Matt Drudge is a conservative (as I was told, I never listened to him or anything...), the website itself is so unbiased due to the fact that all he does is post a link with a story and it's headline. If you scroll lower, you'll find links to a lot of newpaper websites etc.

Just because someone openly states their opinion doesn't mean its factual.
