am i the only one that feels like this:
Ok, so make-up is meant to make you prettier and bring out your qualities, yes?
But why do i feel that i'm not 'worthy' of make-up. because when i wear it, it looks like i have tried and i still don't look great. It bothers me.
so my question is what shall i d about wearing make-up @ school especially. What if people think i still look bad even WITH make-up..it will look like i tried..and failed.
how can i be more confident about my appearance. i know i am a good person 'inside' and i'm not a 'vain' person.
:pink: thanks in advance.

just experiment with your makeup thats what I did and now I look fine, you just have to learn i guess and to stop being so self concious (sp) just tell your self that I am pretty with or whithout makeup...

make up isnt designed to make you look like you are wearing make up. I wouldnt wear make up for school... everyone looks retarded wearing make up to school. Tinted misturiser and a bit of mascara is okay but not make up.
get light coverage stuff. it will look better. get natural tones.

There are many different ways to wear your make up. The best 'day' make up makes you look like you might be wearing it or you might not. Don't just go for the convention by putting on eyeshadow and eyeliner this may not suit your face. Experiment with different shades and things to get something that suits you and makes you feel good.
It can be useful to go to a make-up stand (Mac, Benefit and Chanel are good ones) in a department store and ask for advice with what would suit you, they will usually give you a makeover and explain what they're doing whilst recommending products, you don't have to buy anything so if your budget doesn't stretch that far you can just go for the information, this will give you a clue about what to go for.
Once you know what suits you, you will feel a million times more comfortable in it, one style might look great on one person and terrible on someone else, it's all about what makes you look good,
Also stop being so hard on yourself, I'm sure you don't look as bad as you think and no one is thinking you 'failed'
Hope this helped!

yep. Those ones with the trained make up artists on the stand will only help you properly if you pay 125 or more :)
you can go to a pharmacy and they can help you out.

You don't have to pay for this as it is in their interest as they can advertise their products to you. They are all trained to deal with people coming in unsure what it is they need and to give them this basic consultation and like i said you have no obligation to buy. It's what make-up counters are there for!
Benefit are one of the best as they are all completely trained make-up artists will give you as much time as you need explaining what suits you best and will teach you how to do it.
The only time you have to pay for this service is if you wanted a full makeover (like for prom or something) rather than someone just showing you what to do.

That's something you need to think about yourself. You should never feel you are not 'worthy' for anything.
I spent all of my early teen years trying to be someone i wasn't and dressing and applying my make-up in a style that didn't suit me, so i felt like an ugly doll someone had dressed up. Once i learnt to appreciate who i was and my looks and dressed to compliment myself i looked far better and i felt far better.
Also the way you think about make-up "isn't it meant to be make-up that helps" is all wrong. We wear make up to conceal imperfections and compliment and enhance our looks, you shouldn't look at it as a miracle solution that will make you better or worse. It is what it is and if you enhance your features with it in a way that suits you and makes you feel pretty you shouldn't be wondering if people will think you have 'failed' This isn't a test or something you do well or badly at, this is about you and what you do that makes you feel and look good.

When you wear makeup you have to be really confident that you look hot. and the more confident you are about it the prettier people are gunna say you are .. are gunna glow from the inside out ...
(shut up i no that sounded corny)

the key is really a good foundation.
do you have merle norman where you live? when i put on their foundation i already feel pretty without anything else.
if not go by a local makeup counter and ask for advice. you never know what to do if you don't ask. you may simply be doing it wrong.
find colors that complement your skin tone and eyes.
i'm blonde with green eyes so I usually wear calm, more natural colors.
Let me know your skin complexion and hair color and I would be glad to suggest colors that would look great on you.

sorry i just saw your picture. you really are gorgeous! you have such a unique, exotic look. i would love to have that.
wear your hair down and for your skin complexion I would suggest you be very careful of blues and pinks. Try everything but be aware of anything lighter than yourself.
If you like a smoky eye or metal black eyeliner, get the ones with gold glitter rather than silver.
Never ever wear blue or anything close to a blue eyeshadow.
Hope this helps. Really just experiment and have fun.

You know what.... "some people are blessed with beauty and other people are blessed with words".
No, but seriously, even some nights I can't get my make-up to look right on me and then other nights I'll look like a bombshell, it all really depends. I think you probably need more practice, trying looking in websites or magazines, or hell ask one of your friends or sisters to help you out. And by the way...your not a failure.

Don't wear black eyeliner all around your eye, chances are it will make them look small. What you want to do is put it on your upper eyelid. It should make em pop out=glam :)
