:D This is funny. Well i think you're right about them looking mature. However; i think it's not because of the hormones put in the chicken; but the make up they use and the great desire to look like the popular artists of modern times. Although we're not a western country (I am Turkish), there are that sort of girls in here, too. I think, we just gotta be what we are, we shouldn't try to look older, or younger. Being natural is the best. And life is good at every age.

i think where you're located geographically also plays a part in it. i mean, all girls from all over the world look very different because of the regions they live in, the food they eat and their lifestyle.

they did a study a couple years ago where they took newborn identical twin girls and took one up to the northern part of the world and kept the other one in the southern part (can't remember where this happened) and after a few years, the two girls looked completely different, each one's physical makeup reflected that of the region they were raised in. it was a really interesting study. but your location and lifestyle definitely play a huge part in the physical makeup of our bodies.

mhmm. I'm from the US, I'm 14, and though a lot of the things you've said is true, they're mostly more of a generalization. There are a lot of 13 & 14 year olds that act immature or vaguly whorish, but there's also a lot that don't. I consider myself to be smart and mature--I'm in all advanced classes, get good grades, don't do things that could be considered immature, really (I'm not counting just being alone with my very best friends, hyped up on brownies) and I'm often mistaken for older both because of how I look and the way I act.

Meh. I'm a freshman in high school. my PSAT scores were in the 84th percentile of sophomores. And my 'posts in general' isn't exactly an accurate way of knowing me.

That is one huge problem, a lot of girls don't take having a child seriously either. Unless it happens to them. There are a lot of girls around my school who are very sexually active and they just laguh at the "dumb hoes" who got pregnant in high school but they will soon be down the same road because they don't use birth control and sometimes don't even use condoms because "the guy doesn't want to"

Here we learn sex ed in 4th grade, and again in health class for a week or two. 4th grade doesn't really teach you anything, I'm taking the health class next year so I don't know what that is like but it isn't very in depth considering it's a coed class for a week or 2.

As far as parents I know my parents have never told me anything about sex and to my knowldge it is likewise for all my friends.

That's not entierly true. The hormones in ALL meat and dairy products can cause weight gain and increased breast size and it causes girls to get their periods early, but they do not cause girls to look more mature, it actually does the oposite. 12/13 year old girls do not have the bodies of 15/16 year olds. Ever.

Obviously there are going to be exceptions.. but this is my general observation from talking to Americans for the last 8 years.

Not necessarily.. those that know they're more mature and can prove that statement just know who they are.

I've always been much more mature than i am. Not through looks though, by personality. I get told by a lot of people that when they first met me they thought i was 22/23 because i am mentally mature and i present myself this way.
I tend to find those who are told they are mature try too hard to look mature. Caking make up on and wearing the smallest clothes you can find to look like a young adult on a night out is not mature.. infact it's one of the more immature things you can do..

If you're under the illegal drinking age in England and you try to go to a club wearing big heels, small clothes and loads of make up you're going to be IDd. Even if you're over the legal drinking age and you dress this way, you get IDd.

Perfect example.. i'm 18 and my friends and i went to see a band at a local club.. i was dressed "up" but still casual.. i was let in and i bought drinks with no ID. My friend who is 20 this year (making her just under a year older than me) was IDd as soon as she walked in because she was wearing alot of make up etc her appearance made her look like she was trying too hard :D She was distraught by it but i had to laugh :D

^^^^ I always considered that to be more true in asian countries. The culture is much stricter as is parenting and importance, especially earlier in life, is stressed on education etc.

I'm sure diet is a lot to do with it like the things. I'm an asian living in a western country. I am 16 and my cousin in Hong Kong [China] who is 19 looks younger than I dispite the fact that I don't look older then my age.so yeh... i havent answered anything really.

Western girls typically eat high calorie diets containing more protein and fat than asians and it is this which leads to the earlier onset of menarche. If asian girls ate a similar high protein high fat diet to western girls they would experience menarche earlier too. Asian girls shouldn't be too woried about their later onset of puberty though as it has been shown that the earlier the onset of menarche the higher the incidence of ovarian, breast and cervical cancers.

Looking young for your age may seem unfair now but you will probably feel different when you are older as many asian women continue to look as though they are in their 20's or 30's until they are well into their 50's or even older.

I think underage girls exposing themselfs is really sick and not right.

Thats bullshit. You dont look older or younger for the rest fo your life. For example in my genetics you look older until youre about 18/19, then you look your age until you hit about 33, then you look way younger. I saw pictures of my mom and grandma both when they were like 13/14 and they looked about 18. Now my 40 year old mom always gets mistaken for someone whos only 32-33 and my grandma is 60 and she looks like she could pass for her late 40's, and its going to be the same with me.

Everyone always tells me I look about 19 when I go to clubs, and I'm actually 14. I definitely don't look like the majority of girls here, it has more to do with my facial features and body.

I completely disagree with your statement. None of those things are really going to make you look much older. If you're obviously young and have a younger body, 'slutty' or more grown up clothes will just look strange. Not that many wear makeup at the age of ten--sometimes lipgloss. And I suppose that some might have sex at twelve, but they are in the minority and that's not going to make them look any older.

Dressing grown-up is not necessarily slutty. It might mean more like not wearing screen-tees and trends that pre-teens and young teens don't wear.

Some girls just have older features. And some have older personalities. The clothes, their makeup, and the age they have sex isn't going to affect how old they really look.

They try to work out to keep body fat off and use whatever beauty products needed to make their skin more beautiful.

Makeup also helps if used correctly to enhance the eyes, soften the look of the face, and hide blemishes.

Its because girls in genral have to grow up quick to be respected and what not. Iv seen 10 or 11 year olds wearing makeup and short skirts and so on!!! Its also because young girls aspire to be like their role model (whoever that might me). All in all I think its the makeup, hair colouring, fake tanning, fake nails, grown-up clothing that makes girls look older. And I think its getting abit stupid when you see a 12 year old walk down the street wearing 3inch stilleto (sp) heals!!! I don't think its a good thing when a 12 year old looks like a 16 year old!
