You know...
I once thought we were
The Sun and Moon.
You had always been the center
That my thoughts and heart had floated around.
I thought I would give it a chance
That maybe one day the Moon
Would collide with the Sun
Defying boundaries
Just so they could be together.
The separation between us
Was the dividing three:
The Earth, Mercury, and Venus
My restricted love, our distance, and your feelings.
I've come to realize that
There was no true separation,
Just a pause
On the destiny that might've been.
The universe has seemed to stop
All movement
And yet the Moon still orbits the Sun.
Your light seemed to fade
But all along the Sun was still there
And the Sun and Moon can be together
Without colliding in the way
That the Moon once wanted.
Now the universe has seemed to
Resume its course
And while the dividing three
Haven't disappeared,
I feel that they've faded a bit;
Here you are, aren't you?
So as long as the Sun and Moon
Can coexist together,
The fact that they haven't come together
Doesn't bother me as much anymore.
For if the Sun has no light,
The Moon has no direction.
So share some light,
That I may be directed
To you.
Side-note: I think that this poem needs a little bit more direction into what I want it to talk about, but I don't know what to put or where to put it.
