Has anyone see it? I loved it, it was beautiful and morbid at the same time. It was almost perfect.
I It wasn't a typical fairy tale story and that's what I liked the most.

It was a great portrayal on fantasy and the reality of post-civil war in spain surrounding that era. I really liked the beauty of capturing a child's imagination through some tough times, but even more so when the movie just left us mere viewers wondering whether or not it really was just a visual inside our lead's mind.

it was very interesting since no one has ever really mixed a adult type movie with child like fantasy. I thought it was really good at capturing a childs innocense. The step dad was such a great actor he really made you hate him.

It was definately good, the visuals were magnificent, and the way they merged childrens fairy tales with a more mature approach was also great, but the writing and characterisation struck me as sub-par. There were some great moments, but there were some times that the idiocy of Ofelia was too much (For example, why the fuck did she leave the chalk on the table).
Though the acting was great anyways.

Beer bottle scene was brutal to watch. :slash:
Otherwise, great film.

The only thing that would have made it better is if they had devoted more time to the fantasy aspect. But it still ruled.

I'm actually glad they didn't dwell too long on the fantasy aspect of it, but maybe that's just me.

Ahh, yes, that part was disturbing.
That just made me hate him more...which was probably the point of the scene.
