It's in the process of being turbocharged. I hope to be in the mid to low 14 second in the 1/4 mile.

I will be using a Mitsubishi 16g turbo, and a custom crossover pipe. Everything has to be made custom because they dont make turbo kits for this engine!

sleepers are supposed to be fast. running 14's is not fast.

they only make turbo kits for Hondas because it's the only thing they can do to make them do anything under an 18 second 1/4

Not saying mine has any performance options available.

but my goal is to have a whole kit setup for $600 or less.

they make turbos for all kinds of cars. hondas, toyotas, nissans, fords, mazdas, etc.

my stock internals will hold 12 pounds of boost due to the 8.8:1 pistons.

I will run 10 pounds of boost, that will give me cerca 280+hp @ the crank and mid to high 300 ft lbs of torque.

Each PSI of boost is around 12hp

Any Prelude or Sti or WRX are not unique. If I wanted a car that was fast, I would have bought an old mustang. You would not expect a Dodge Spirit to be fast.

you see...anyone that rolls up in a 300zx knows the car will be fast (they're stock in what? low 14s?) but NO ONE will expect a dodge spirit to be fast. it's more of the sleeper effect, as I stated before.

if it's turbo'd, i would expect it to be fast.

This car looks like a hell of a project car... that's what it is. Of course there will be faster but who cares? He's got a goal and he'll make it eventually.
I have a 96 Oldsmobile with a 3.1 V6 making approximately the same power and I run mid 16s and make fools out of stock Hondas and Mitsus all the time. Just because it's brand new doesn't mean anything. My car looks like it was made in the 80s but if I dropped in a Grand Prix Comp G supercharged 3.8 I'd run low 13s... maybe not something to be proud of proffesionally, but it's enough for your own sense of pride. Plus, when u whip every Honda in town, you have respect from the Mustang and Camaro guys that show no respect to anyone other than certain segments of their own crowd.
Anyways just because it's not a Jag or a Porsche or a Mustang doesn't mean it's not worth moding. Diff ppl have diff tastes and ya know for a first or second car 14 seconds ain't that bad... he's not a professional drag racer and this thing would fit into bracket racing well.
