so i was gonna buy a new phone on ebay and i was wondering if i do that can i take my phone i bought on ebay to a verizon store and get it activated(sp?) as my phone?
i know you can do that with cell phone companys with sim cards but i wasnt sure about verizon!

I believe recently they changed it so you can unlock your phone and bring it to a different company. Just call the company and ask about it.

Yeah they're major bitches about that. I'd ask at the store, but chances are it'll depend on the phone, it probably has to be specifically a Verizon phone.

if you get a phone that is sim free you should be able to put any card in it after all
its the network you pay the charges to so they won't care what phone you use

...Verizon doesn't use Sim Cards. You can't put the non-existant sim card into any phone you want.

If the phone uses verizion's os hack it then It'll be unlocked (google it don't ask me) PC Magazine had an article recently about using Alltel or someones firmware to unlock it. Get an I-phone.

Up here in Canada we don't have verizon... How do they get around not using a SIM card? Wouldn't that require a special manufacturing process? You could ask that your service be transferred over to a sim card... i dunno.

Just accept it exists.

I'm pretty sure all of verizons phones are custom designed with something essentially the same as a sim card, but permenantly attached.

Ask Verizon. As far as I know, it won't work unless the phone is pretty new and was designed for Verizon.
