Hi,
Does anyone have any tips on how to reduce/clear dark circles under the eyes?
I'm 14, have a healthy diet, drink 2 litres of water daily and do get a semi-decent sleep. My dad has the same dark-circled problems so I'm guessing it runs in the family.
I've never really noticed until someone commented on it so I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to help it?
Thanks.

I have dark circles, too. And you know what I've found that works? Absolutely nothing. People say Vaseline gets rid of them, they lied. Cucumbers? No. Warm washcloth? No. Good sleep? No. Lots of water? You guessed it, no.
So if anyone has some good advice, I'd appreciate it, too.

my problem too... someone who knew alot about this told me it could be because of eye allergies, like if you wear contacts or something. supposably taking clartin or a medication like it for six months will make them go away. im taking it right now. or go to your doctor and ask about allgeries.

For me, what works is dabbing some sheer red lipstick or lip gloss under my eyes. The red counteracts with the blue in the circles. Then swipe liquid concealer over it, and it should work.

CONCEALER! It's the best thing ever. Make sure to pick one either the exact shade as your skin or one shade lighter. Also, make sure it's a yellow tone, it'll conteract the red. Blend it in very well. As far as erasing circles, you need at least 9 hours of sleep every day. There's also a very good cream that models and actresses use that costs $100. I'm not sure what it's called but you can probably google undereye creams and find it.

I've heard that holding cold tea bags under your eyes will help get rid of circles. i tried it once and it seemed to help a bit.

If your dad has them, then it's probably genetic, but yea, I"d use a concerler or possible a skin tone highlighter, like a shade lighter, it would seem then that you were more awake with lighter under eyes.

ya same here i heard that too
i have really bad allergies, and putting cold teabags relieved the itch and helps swelling go away. hmm..thats not anything to do with dark circles though.
having allergies makes me look tired too sometimes, and i get tired of hearing, "hey you tired? you look it"... so i bought this eye product from aloette. I'm sure it works..i just forget to apply it under my eyes before i go to bed.
i've never heard of dark circles being genetic, but it does sound like you're healthy...so wait a bit longer.
oh, you can always google home remedies for dark circles :)

A couple of people have said vaseline in other threads like this, try putting it under your eyes before you go to sleep it might work, did for me, but it doesnt work for everyone.
If not try asking at a makeup counter, they might give you tips on how to hide them or get rid of them.

When I was reading that I was like "OMG that's me!" Except I've disliked my under-eye-circles since I was 11. I haven't found any thing that helps. And I have tried EVERY THING.

i feel you...
if nothing works, its probably genetic so just use concealer
but that hylexin thing looks like it might work, based on what i know about dark circles

only for puffiness, not bluish dark circles (some people's are brown, a problem easier to take care of )

Dark circles in some cases are genetic. Try to go to bed before midnight and get at least 9 hours of sleep.

Do you have any visceral problems, if you do it can cause that dark stuff under your eyes.
Although your dad has them so I'd say they're genetic.
