I'm 16 and I'm 5'7" and I weigh 105 lbs. Does this sound too skinny? All anybody's been saying lately is that skinny girls are disgusting and ugly. It's not like my rib cage sticks out, and I'm not anorexic. It used to make me so self-concious that I wasn't curvy enough.

So what's up with bashing skinny people? Why can't we just accept everyone's body type?

Yeah, I think it's underweight. But it doesn't mean you necessarily LOOK bad, you probably look fine. I wouldn't worry about it. If you wanna look a little less skinny, do muscle-building exercises and eat stuff like nuts and milkshakes.

And anyway, skinny's NOT ugly.

Skinnyness is more accepted in todays society rather than someone who is 10lbs overweight. You really shouldn't complain because anyone 10lbs over gets enough hell as it is, if not more.

hehe don't worry. I'd rather be too skinny than too fat but if it really bothers you it isn't hard to put on weight. I did it last year but decided I liked being smaller better (even if it meant having a smaller chest =[ lol) and lost the weight.

I'm exactly the same as you are--same height and weight. Personally I've noticed that people tend to notice thinness more, but are more accepting of it--like, people will always comment on how thin I am, for example, but it's not as though people think I am ugly or avoid me because of my shape. I think the only reason there is backlash lately is because of all the emphasis put on models in the fashion industry....in reality, not everyone is going to look like that and not everyone should. Variety is part of what makes life so interesting. So no, I don't think anyone is better or worse than anyone else, overall. You're fine as you are and don't let anybody tell you otherwise.
