getting a lip piercing, fake tan, nose job, implants, extensions wont solve anything. low confidence and self esteem is something in your mind not in your eyes. It may make you feel good for a week but thats just masking how you really feel.

yes thats true but I know from my own experience, I die my hair and workout and having darker hair and bigger muscles makes me feel happier than I did before

Thats a generalization, i have a few friends and family members who have had various surgeries and most of them feel alot better about themselves. I agree with you to a point some people are like psycho about what they expect from a surgery and if it isnt perfect there not gonna like it and still be the same. Most people however everyone i know does feel alot better after there surgeries, one of my friends was made fun of for her nose alot but after her surgery she gained alot more self confidence. My mom has gotten a chemical peel and it made her look so much younger so obviously she is gonna feel better. I agree with you to a extent but i feel the vast majority of people do feel better after surgery. You shouldnt judge though surgery has helped alot of people feel alot better about themselves, just because it might not work for you doesnt mean it doesnt work.

did your friendmum get the counselling before they had the plastic surgery done?

My mum too has had a boob job, tummy tuck, chemical peel and some other bullshit things and from start to finish (deciding she was going to get it done to when they finsihed doing the surgery) was 3 weeks. Not one pyscologist nor counsellor was involved.
