The type of clothing worn by Aberzombies, a peculiar specimin which infest college campuses and upscale suburban high schools across the North American landmass.

Nominally a human being, the Aberzombie is easily identifiable by large advertisements worn on its chest and buttox. It tends to come from wealthy stock, drives an SUV and mates exclusively with other Aberzombies.

The musical taste of the Aberzombie is limited to bands like Dave Matthews and O.A.R. Its SUV is typically emblazoned with a sticker reading "DMB" so as to communicate its bland taste in music to potential mates.

The Aberzombie is not without its natural enemies, however. Most prominent among them are independent thought and a sense of style. The Aberzombie will go to great lengths not to face such horrific ideas, most often by associating only with fellow Aberzombies. In the rare case that it is exposed to outside ideas/free thought, it will utilize its only defense mechanism: complaining that others are envious and simply cannot afford Abercrombie clothing.

Lol. I work at abercrombie. haha.

And though I must admit its not the most original or stylish brand of clothing. Its cute and comfy and good for just going to class. And I don't know why people say it is over priced because it isnt at all.

Also I hate how people say that people that wear Abercrombie aren't original. They are just as original as those who wear Ralph Lauren, Wal mart, Hottopic, Armani, or anything. If you don't make your own clothes other people are gonna have the same clothes as you = not original.

Just because the OP dislikes Abercrombie doesn't make him a retard. I too dislike Abercrombie.

Also, before you go and claim I wear stuff from Walmart, I happen to buy clothes from Armani, Kenneth Cole, Diesel, Ben Sherman, etc.

In that case, I agree. Stereotyping is ignorance at it's finest level.

Since you like Armani, what do you think of AE's holiday lineup? There's a few sweaters, some accessories, and tees that caught my eye, but that was about it I believe. I liked last years better.

This basically described 90 percent of the kids at my school, except they're more into Hollister and American Eagle. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with this. I've been known to hit AE for a scarf or a pair of jeans now and then. But it's true that most kids at my school drive SUVs and listen to Dave Matthews. They're a generally nice group of people though so my classmates don't ridicule those who don't wear the same clothing as they do.

A sweater with "Armani Exchange" written accross the chest? That's knowing how to dress? No, that's being a walking advertisment. It's just your average sweater, nothing particularly cool about it except that it's got a fancy brand name written on it. So Armani knows people will buy it for the snob-factor. What's more, people are even more likely to buy it with the name on it because by doing so, others will know it's designer and thus be impressed.

That's style?

No,style is the fit of the shirt and the pants that armani has to offer. Ripped baggy abercrombie jeans, that's style? Yeah, it is...I dont particularly LIKE it though.

I don't hate designer brands, God no. I love designer clothing. I just don't like clothing with huge logos across the front. Honestly, I wouldn't even notice the "fit" of the shirt. I would be so distracted by the obnoxious words in the huge, bold print.

I hate the fact that some girls in my highschool who wear Abercrombie think they're better than everyone else because of the name which is emblazoned across their chest, etc.

I seriously heard a girl in my class say that.

TO another point, why the hellpay for something super expensive that just says the brand name on the shirt, etc?

I don't think a plain ol' sweater with ARMANI EXCHANGE emblazoned across it is 78$ worth. I mean, they should be paying you some for all that advertisement you're doing with that sweater.

Mike5055
11-08-2006, 11:55 PM
Just to point out the marketing aspect, people wouldn't want it if it were cheap.

It's like Garrett's popcorn (well-known Chicago popcorn guy), he charges $25 for a small amount, and it isn't even very good, but the line will be out the door in freezing weather.

I realize that not everything by Armani Exchange has the logo. I was just talking about that particular sweater.

And no, I haven't ever worn one. If you're going to tell me that it feels nicer than others, I can't argue with that. But Laura89 was declaring it stylish which I don't agree with. I'm willing to believe that wearing it feels great. But aesthetically, I just think it's awful.

The people who piss me off are ones who walk around in there AE and A&F torn jeans and shit, and think they are all cool and shit and better than the kid wearing the blue jeans and t-shirt.

Plus the ripped stuff is gay anyways

Plus abercrombie promotes teen sex (look it up)

plus its wayyyyyy overpriced

plus theres a shirtless guy at the front of the store here with his pants falling down, why the hell would I go in there,.

If you don't think it's worth it then don't buy it and don't complain about it. I'm willing to pay $78 for it, and that's my business, I really could care less if you think it's worth the money. It's my money and I will spend it however I want.

lol @ implying A&F is expensive.

I thought it was for the longest time too.

Then I was actually allowed to shop for myself and spend my own money, amounts that count for something, at least in the stores where we could afford to shop. I saw that I did indeed have enough money for this and similar brands (I chose not to buy it.), and that there are more expensive brands of clothing.

Wear what you want. It's your perogative to wear the clothing, and mine to express that I dislike it by not wearing it.

lol @ the stereotypes. I attended high school in a farming town, and I frequently saw people wearing A&F, AE, Hollister, whatever brand of clothing. We are neither sheltered nor isolated from the trends of suburban America. I really don't care that they wore it; it never changed who they were and how they acted, at least from what I saw.

I didn't understand a word you said. But i dont like A&F, holliester, american eagle cuz I just dont like the style. I dont hate on people who wear it, it's just not for me. But I'm not poor. >.< But I do think the clothes are a bit expensive, I rather buy a bag.

It's very expensive for such bland clothing. None of it is even stylish, its just plain, simple tee shirts and jeans. Theres nothing wrong with that. But if youre gonna spend big bucks on clothes, why not buy high fashion clothing?

Jurassic-5 did it ever occur to you that a $78 sweater might be expensive to you but to not someone else.

While fashion isnt on the price tag anyone who thinks there gonna find anything moderatly fashionable at walmart should wake up because its not gonna happen.

Im not defending Abercrombie & Fitch, i worked at Abercrombie for like 3 weeks and it sucked. I own a few shirts and Jeans from A&F but i usually just wear that stuff to like the gym or something.

Seriously though i really hate the people who Wear A&F and think there like coture and act like there a millionaire because they are wearing a $40 shirt and $80 jeans. Usually the belt im wearing costs more then there outfit, but i dont blab the price of my clothes because people who do that are retarded. Buy clothes for the style or the designer or label you like not the price tag.

I didn't really read all the posts, but I personally love A&F, and am no where near an "aberzombie" or whatever the heck you called it. Just because someone likes a certain store, doesn't mean that they listen to a certain type of music, act a certain way, etc. Also, I don't walk around showing off lables like A&F, AE, Aeropostale, Hollister, etc. 'cause there really not that expensive or great. I just like their clothes.

I agree, cept with the job at Abercrombie sucks, one of my best buddies currently works at Abercrombie and he likes it, the pay is pretty good, it's a easy clean job, and you get discounts on their stuff.

The type of clothing worn by Aberzombies, a peculiar specimin which infest college campuses and upscale suburban high schools across the North American landmass.

I may be rich, but my school DEFINITELY isn't. So WRONG there.

Nominally a human being, the Aberzombie is easily identifiable by large advertisements worn on its chest and buttox. It tends to come from wealthy stock, drives an SUV and mates exclusively with other Aberzombies.

RIGHT on the advertisements.

RIGHT on the wealth.

RIGHT on the SUV.

WRONG on the mating bit.

The musical taste of the Aberzombie is limited to bands like Dave Matthews and O.A.R. Its SUV is typically emblazoned with a sticker reading "DMB" so as to communicate its bland taste in music to potential mates.

WRONG WRONG WRONG! I listen to everything from Britney Spears to Metallica.

WRONG on all counts. I don't "complain" about problems. I eliminate them.

And I believe that, even WITH your slightly above-average vocabulary, you are still slightly unintelligent.
