I know lots of people who use proactiv they say its the best stuff they have ever used BUT if you miss a day of using it the acne comes back straight away. So you need to order it like every 2.5 months so you never run out, apparently though pro activ automatically sends it out every 3 months so you dont have to worry or remember

amazing. and i can skip a day or 2 without anything happens but it depends on your face, makeup, etc. and my face was almost completely clear in 2 weeks, and now i rarely ever break out - if i do its like 2 tiny pimples on my hairline or something. i can actually leave the house without makeup!

I tried every product on earth and nothing worked so I went to my doctors and got antibiotics, it takes around 5 month to see the effects but up to now they are pretty much clearing them!

Had terrible skin.
Went to the derm.
Gave me a cream.
Two weeks and my skin was perfect.
Was completely perfect for an entire year.
Out of nowhere it broke out, and my face got twice as bad as it had ever been. NOTHING has cleared it up in over a year and it hasn't gotten better. I'm almost 19 now, and one of the only people in college who still has bad acne.

To OP and this guy.
My best friends face used to be red/yellow heads and swallen it was so inflamed i would cringe at the pain he was in and I dont even know what thats like. Anyway. he used proactiv but his skin got used to it so he went to his doctor and they prescribed him the pill you take for Malaria (he doesnt have malaria) it takes 3 months to start working but once it starts working your acne clears up. His face has been left with minimal scarring which have been removed through lasers.
This pill doesnt give you any mood swings/added hair/issues to ejaculate/getting turned on nothing because its not hormonal its just a chemical that doesnt play with your hormones.
but for the first few weeks you can have these side effects:
ausea, vomiting, stomach upset, cramps, loss of appetite, diarrhea, tiredness, weakness or headaches
go to your doctors and ask about it. Im not sure what exact pill it was but its used to treat malaria
Heres a malaria one that is used for acne the chemical is
Doxycycline Hyclate.
Ill show you a few sites (if you go in well informed then its harder for them to say no)

Not always. the only side effect my friend had was dizziiness if he laid down/stood up to quickly...
If youve tried everything and nothing has worked I dont think your in a position to be picky about it as much as that sucks. The other stuff you have to use is a hormonal one and that messes up everything in your body ill try find the hormonal pill to show you the difference give me 2 seconds :)

boys cant get hormone treatment.
Physical treatments for acne
* Sunlight is anti-inflammatory and can help briefly. However, exposure to ultraviolet radiation results in ageing skin and can eventually lead to skin cancer.
* Cryotherapy (freezing treatment) may be useful to control new nodules.
* Intralesional steroid injections can be used to shrink older nodules.
* Comedones can be expressed or removed by cautery or diathermy.
* Microdermabrasion can help mild acne.
* Blue light and sometimes red light phototherapy systems appear helpful. Treatment is often delivered twice weekly for four weeks. The effect may be enhanced by use of a photosensitising agent (photodynamic therapy).
* Note: X-ray treatment is no longer recommended for acne as it may cause skin cancer.

I think what you should do is now you know about that go to your doctor explain that therefore they cant just goo 'oh no that doesnt work' and say you want an oral treatment for the acne with minimal side effects.
they might put you on that but put you on an anti nausea pill to stop the vomiting. In the long run though anything is better.
Go see your dcootor, read the articles youll be informed enough to back the doctor into a corner and give you sometype of treatment
