HAHA, really tight capris? Leggings, dear. And yes, the 80's are back. Get over it, judging by your post you don't really seem very aware of fashion for it to ACTUALLY affect you.

Yes... the 80's (FOR GIRLS ONLY) are back.
But you won't see me sporting leggings and big shirts that make me look pregnant...with tacky belts and awful colored purses and flats.
To me, 80's fashion looks sort of like conservative drag queen fashion...at least when the colors and makeup are overblown.

yeah i know...it looks terrible in my opinion

Just like fashion insiders have said numerous times, "I don't know why people would want to revisit the 80's, out of all the decades people want the 80's." Not a big fan either actually, some of the "in" clothing this season makes me :selfvomit

Eh, I've been noticing this since last year. If you compare things that a lot of people wear to what was popular in the eighties, it's strikingly similar. I don't really care...I love the eighties. Music-wise, at least. But I think right now, it's basically all a big melting-pot of the last three or four decades.

yeah it is weird how the different "times" mix in together..i think that it is just....idk weird..not used to it!

To all of you who are into fashion and are acknowledging that, yes, the 80s are back:
If you're happy about that, maybe don't talk shit about scene kids anymore since the skirt/leggings thing has been their thing for about a year now.
If you think it looks ridiculous (and are therefore not retarded or blind), continue to beat the crap out of any scene kids you see, it's entirely their fault.

yeah well beating the crap out of them is not what iam really aimin for

I told you, scene kids.
And don't worry, in a few more years, '90s will be the new retro. I know you're on the edge of your seat in anticipation of the return of the grunge look...

Leggings are rank. Only super skinny people can pull them off.
I like patterned stockings though... are they 80's? Eh... the 80's wasn't a good decade for me.

In some places it's going extremely 80's and in other's it's just a little hint of it. I'm seeing a lot of 60's and 80's

Aghhh I know! I also hate a lot of the stuff he did for Louis Vuitton, which I'm not a huge fan of to begin with. Like, hate to the point that I puke a little in my mouth. And then Pharrel! What the fuck is he doing with LV? Ugh, I do however like Marc by Marc Jacobs, especialy the last show.

Oh I remember I went to this store and all there was was Madonna's stuff. That was hot espiecially that little bride dress she wore, and that Spanish outfit with the ruffles. She was really hot back then, but what I'm talking about is weird lol, so anyways the point is I think Madonna is really hot back in the 80's.

Cyndi Lauper was cool too, but nothing compared to Madonna.

I don't care about fashion. I recently canceled all of my subscriptions to fashion magazines and am very out of the loop. Mostly, I wear jeans, polos, and tshirts from various camps and festivals I attend. Just got back from LifeLight and got two GREAT shirts. But other than that, I am very unfashionable. I don't care if what I wear is in fashion, but I also think that leggings are hideous, as are most of the new styles, which are very much ripped off from the 80s. It is only because they can't think of any thing new though, just like with remade and ripped off movies these days. I mean, when they come out with King Kong for at least the third time, it is time to just let the movie die!
Yea, that was long. Basically, let the 80s die.

Ok my mother had all these Cosmopolitan magazines from the 80's, like a whole big box full. And I look through them all, really, and in most of them no one really copied the 20's, 30's, or even the 60's. But now everyone is copying the 80's. But haven't you notice lately have the celebrities or more than half are over 30? There's like 1 our of every 15 major celebrity who is 25 or younger, this is only generally. In the eighties magazines all I see is young beautiful women like beach blondes. Even the latest music is Madonna-like in fashion.

In the magazines I also notice know one talks about anti-aging, but now all these old 80's people are trying to stay young. And the hippies who were the 40 year old and the 30 year old back then didn't care if they stay young.

OMG! I KNOW! Have you seen those new hideous tote-sized things in bazaar? but they're not really totes. And those prints! UGH! I only really like one louis bag to the point of adoration and that was the patchworky one he made exclusively for the runways like 2 years ago. I think he only made like 2 or 3 and they went for about 30 grand. =/
Oh and i totally agree with pharell. putting him with lv and saying it works is like trying to convince people 1+1=3.

I like some things that are 'coming back', but leggings are definitely on their way out, at least it seems like that. A touch of 80's style can be cute, but all decked out in it just looks wrong.

Ugh, I really don't like the whole leggings thing.
I remember one girl at our school wore leggings and a miniskirt agesss ago, and one of my friends said it was horrible. Now that it's in style she's started wearing it =/

Yeah so many 80's styles are back: leggings, mini dresses, skinny tapered jeans, and platform heels. I don't know what to think...leggings are ok with skirts and casual dresses but I don't know if I want to wear them because I know that they'll soon go out of style and we'll look back and make fun of them. It could be next season, next year, five years, or ten years but they'll soon become a don't!
As far as the skinny or straight leg jeans, I hate those because they make your thighs and hips look thicker compared to boot cut jeans and they bunch up. :(
