View Full Version : My hair...

has been screwed up. I did a modeling job, and they were going to give me a Cyndi Lauper-ish thing but they wouldn't let me into my strict catholic school with it, so they cut it like a gross mullet/emo girl and I hate it! On runway it looked good because I had it up and they used shitloads of gel. But I'm the kinda girl that wakes up in the morning and you're lucky if I get my shirt on right, so I'm not about to do a lot to my ahir to make it look good.

Anyway the question is: Do you think I'd look good with really short hair, ala-Twiggy?

If I had pictures of my hideous 80's truck driver mullet, you'd not be saying that.

Either that or buy a long wig, and wait for your hair to grow out. So just cut, and wait for it to grow.

xXFashion_PrincessXx
09-03-2006, 12:04 AM
If you don't want a long wig than just wear a short haircut.

xXFashion_PrincessXx

Im a model, but I'm known for long hair, so I guess I'm lucky.

Eugh. ^^

Anyway. Why the fuck would she wear a wig? Thats just stupid.

Saosin888
09-03-2006, 12:15 AM
you can make any hair style look good if you know how to use products and heat. let it grow out.

xXFashion_PrincessXx
09-03-2006, 12:43 AM
Cause wigs look realistics nowadays, and I was just thinking if she really wanted long hair she can get one that's natural human hair. Many people use wigs, not only the hairless ones, but people who want to try different styles. Models used it alot.

If you're lazy, you can just wash your hair at night so in the morning it's dry, get it a little wet at the top and flip your head over and blow dry it sticking up with a little hairspray

it sticks up super easily.

aww hun,
i guess it'd be better than a cyndi lauper style cut.
i had to get my hair cut awfullly for a shoot.
I had to have like all the back zig zag, and some parts were extrememly short and my fringe lets not even talk about my fringe,
but uh, anyway i just got extensions done, although they can be pricey you seem like you have the money? and i felt it was well worth it.

Hmm, I've been thinking about extensions, but... I don't know. Honestly, I would probably feel fake. And, I just... love my hair! Not at the moment so much, but... and I've always loved Twiggy's pixie cut, just don't know if it would suit me.

xNELLERELLA
09-03-2006, 07:11 PM
hm if you really hate it you might as well cut it, then eventually it'll grow back to how you liked it before.

go with the twiggy haircut.

farkin_joaquin
09-04-2006, 04:46 AM
You could always let it grow out? If you go short, and you hate it, there's not much you could do is there?

Let is grow for a little bit... or go to a salon and get some ideas?

VOGUE_
09-04-2006, 08:08 AM
yeah, before i had extensions i was extremely skeptical.
i thought that i would feel fake and they would be awful.
but as i got used to them i loved them, they are so handy.
especially when you are a model.

slightly off topic but, i also have to constantly tell remind myself that my body is not completely mine.

and i think that a shorter hairstyle would probably look nice on you as well.

That sucks so bad babe. I honestly don't think you would look good with such short hair, so I vote extentions, or going to a good professional salon and seeing what they can suggest.

09-04-2006, 08:33 PM
ohmigod hun! i can't believe that! it sucks! well, i'd say go for extensions, i mean its no more fake than wearing powder to cover a zit. and they'll be gone after a few months. its better than living with a short haircut for a few years.

I agree- a picture would help. I don't know how anyone could answer the question without seeing you first.

marilyn_monroe
09-04-2006, 09:02 PM
Well, people that have seen several pictures of me and my old hair should know. Everyone says it's not that bad, I mean my strong features do stand out more because it framed my face better, but. I don't know, it just screams teenage girl to me, not supermodel. Anyway I think I will go with the extensions.

edgar_allan_poe
09-04-2006, 09:20 PM
Maybe you should trying be a teenage girl, or a young woman- there will be plenty of time to be a supermodel.

marilyn_monroe
09-04-2006, 09:30 PM
Haha, I couls, but I really don't want to. I hate teenage drama, I hate having friends my age, I'm really mature for my age, nobody would ever guess that I'm 14. Ever. Seriously, it's not that I'm rushing anything, I just simply want to be a supermodel, now, and I don't see a point in wasting any time when I already have a job doing what I love.

Have hair that makes you look like a supermodel isn't going to make your teenage years go any faster. We have to go to high school for a reason. I don't want to go to class and do homework anymore, I'd like to enter residency as a doctor right this instant- but that isn't going to happen. Sometimes, you have to go through hard times for a good reason.

I actually am going to stop assisting high school the moment I get a modeling contract. I understand having supermodel hair won't make me older, I'm just saying that I don't want to appear to be something I am not (a typical teenage girl). I'm much too mature for all that high school drama and much too passionate and ready to pursue my carreer to wait, wasting my time being unhappy and trying to live a life I don't believe in.

I don't think you know much about life outside of being a supermodel. It's great that you have goals you want to achieve, but quitting high school and growing up fast isn't the only way to go. I don't know how many model agencies are going to be rushing to send a 14 year old girl down the runway. Try enjoying life outside of modeling for a minute, i'm sure it's not as terrible as you think!

I doubt she'll regret getting a modeling contract. If you ever talked to her, you'd realize that modeling is what she was made for. Just like Suzy was made to be a doctor, Lisa was made to be a social worker, etc. She's a model, she acts like one... she is one. And Karina's too smart to go through life wanting a high school degree, she'll get it.

Oh honey, if you think all I know of is modeling, you are so wrong. Yes, it is my passion. It is what I live for, breathe for, cry for. Yes, that undeniable. I'm not quitting High School, I'm going to get homeschooled. However, you should know I am extremely educated (and I would hope that would show by the way I conduct myself). An example of my life outside of modeling is my love for reading. I also enjoy learning about religion, and I am familiar with many. I love to paint, I love to swim, meditate, etc. My life does revolve around modeling, no doubt. Because that's how I want it to. But I do have other things going for me, I have prepared myself to be able to do anything outside of modeling, I have near perfect rades and an IQ of 163. But I do not want to do anything else. It won't make me happy. I hope you now understand.

Im homeschooled, because of modelling and acting, and it works for me.
I also have near perfect grades and a high iq. People thought i was silly for wanting to leave main stream school, but it didn't bother me as i knew i could get to where i want to be a lot easier this way, and i think you will do well with homeschooling as well.

The way I see it, school is just in the way for me right now. Not education- school. All this teenage drama who-said-what and who-flited-with-who's-boyfriend is something I have never even been into, but right now I am like, SO over it. To the point where I can't even stand it. Seriously, some people love high school. I love modeling. I know that I'll never look back and wish I had done this because at this point of my life continuing in my school would just cause me grief.

PS: I act too! I do theatre, my acting really goes hand in hand with my modeling.

yep, i know exactly how you feel! that is what i didn't like about school, but i love learning new things and still want to continue my education, but also build myself a career in what i love most modeling and acting.

Acting almost goes hand in hand with my modeling, except i am a major camera whore *shrugs*, so modeling is my preffered.
I do a lot of extra work, and small roles on TV, and i also try to do some theatre when i have time. x
