Okay.. Me being a stupid teenager decided to give myself a piercing.. It took me a while to decide.. But then I got my "supplies" and cleaned them, brushed my teeth, used a shit load of mouth wash and started to pierced the webbing between my lower lip and gums. Well.. It took about 15 - 20 minutes to get it through.. Anyways..about 30 minutes later It then began to hurt, pretty bad, so I took it out in fear I fucked something up... Anyways.. today when I woke up, it was fairly swollen, but thankfully not to the point my parents would notice and I have gargled salt water to try to keep it clean..
Now here is my question.. Should I continue to do that?? And how long do you think the swelling will stay??
Also I do know that was a VERY dumb thing for me to do.. No need to tell me.. I know.Trust me I'll never pierce myself again, proffesionals or nothing from now on... Anyways... Yea.. anyone who knows anything about piercings would be of much help to me right now!!

my sister did this aswell. Her swelling lasted a few days, she iced it reguarly. Whatever you do don't put it back in. Oh and most likelly you will have a small lump that isn't visible for quite a while, like a few months. yes, keep using salt water, but only for like the next couple of days. X

never attempt it again.
use non iodized sea salts, using 1/4 of a tsp in 1 cup of water, and gargle it twice a day for a bit, until your swelling starts to go down.

Although I have to be against piercing yourself, it was a smart idea to pierce the webbing and nothing els eby your self. The webbing contains no nerves or anything, the web is usually the first piercing you do because there is no risk.
As for your aftercare, you need to get an antibacterial mouthwash one like Listerine anti bacterial,Cepacol or even savacol. The swelling will stay for a while, stay away from yeast and dairy. They contain too much bacteria and if you havent had something steralised properly theres such a high chance of infection.
I would strongly suggest you go and get a disease test done aswell. There is a reason as to why piercers go through 2 boxes of gloves per week and chemicals. Its called being sterile. something which your home is not.
Piercers dont even pierce themselves. I recommend you never do this again.

Do half mouthwash half water for the first week.
