Okay, as you can tell by my screenname, I'm a pretty active girl, and I'm into a lot of sports. If you want to place labels on me, I could be considered a "tomboy." Over the summer, I've been expirementing with makeup. Foundation, blush, mascara, eye liner, and the likes. I was wondering what are some good makeup brands, and colors that I should use? I'm not that good at putting on makeup yet, and don't like caking it on my face. I don't really like dark colors, but bright and metalicy (sp?) aren't that great either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance~
EDIT : I barely have any lower lashes, so when I apply mascara, it looks like I'm a spider. Should I just not put mascara on my lower lashes, or is there a way to fix that, too?

Well, it depends what your skin tone is.
if you have a dark skin tone, like african american brown, then light natural colors are good.
If you're hispanic tan, or indian tan, or just dark tan, then also light, maybe dark natural colors are good.
If you're caucasion, creamy white, darker natural colors are good.
Natural colors meaning shades of brown and stuff. Those colors are really good for girls that aren't so girly, cuz it can sometimes look natural.
But I'm totally guessing cuz I don't know what you look like, ha.
oh, and that was the eyes I was talking about...
For lips, since you're athletic, a good lip balm or chapstick always gives the lips a good healthy look.

Lets see, I'm caucasion, but I'm not pale white, I'm more of a tan-ish white. I have brown hair and brown eyes. Hope that helps =)

Don't bother with foundation except on individual zits, or trouble spots. Dark brown/black mascara, not on the bottom lashes. Liner along the top lashes, just dot it between individual lashes. Natural balm or gloss.

Thanks for both of your guy's help. What are good makeup companies and such that I can buy without bursting my wallet? Plus, more makeup suggestions would be helpful. Thanks~

If you have a Sephora, they have a pretty good mascara. It's Sephora brand, it's like $10 bucks. And Burt's Bees always has great lip balm for like $3 bucks.

I like J.A.N.E. you can get that at wal*mart. Just simple stuff, and if you have lighter brown hair, use brown mascara rather than black, I guess darker hair should use black, and lighter brown.

I heard good things about that, plus it's simple after all, perfect for a tomboy. Yes, go with that, or something. Otherwise, I'm not going to try, since the second post is all you need to know other than your personal tastes... I like the natural-ish colours anyway.

Go for a tinted moisturiser. It has a natural coverage and it moisturisers your skin.
otherwise. go with the others.
