First off, i'm sorry if this is a repost. =p

Yeaaah. I've got my labret [lip] & both my nipples pierced and i do believe it is time for me to get another bit of metal in my body somewhere. problem is that i have to be able to hide it from my parents. So i've decided i want a tongue piercing.

Anyone with either / both of these piercings, which one is more painful & hows the healing period? I may need to take out the jewellery within the first 24 hours of getting it pierced, which happened with my labret, but that one turned out okay. Can anyone give me any comparisons between any piercings i already have to either tongue piercings? Will i speak with a lisp as it heals? I now that different people have different reactions, but still.

Any help/advice is much appreciated =)

hahahaha god i love you (L) sorry lol but you think like me :P. i just recently got my venoms pieced, after havin my nipples done twice each and my industrial. the venoms arent that easy to hide, and you cant eat easily at all...and plus the swelling is 2times worse then the regular tounge piercing. so i wouldnt reccomend the venoms if your trying to hide it. but um the regular center tounge piercing shouldnt be that hard cause you wiould still be able to eat and the swelling will go down after about 2 days no problem, the swelling with the venoms lasts about a week. sadly. and you can NOT take it ouut during the first 24 hours caus it will close up REALLY fast, only because its your tounge and its the faster healing part of your body. and to compare the tounge piercing to anything else you have, trust me it wont hurt a bit. the guy that did my piercings (venoms) compared it to my nipples and he was like the nipples would have hurt a hell of alot more then my tounge, so no worries with the pain, it barley hurts......and also for the people who say it will chip your teeth and that you have a chance of dying...well the chipping of the teeth only happens if you play with the bar in your tounge, dont play with it then theres no chipping of the teeth. and the part where you can die? ahhaha well with the regular tounge piercing thres no chance of hitting a vein so your good with that, but with the venoms since its going through the muscle and since theres thoes 2 big veins running along the bottom of your tounge theres a chance they the person piercing your venoms can hit either one of thoes, but the bigger veins running on the outside of your tounge they probably wouldnt hit them in the first place, cause its easy to avoid. but if they were to hit a vein on the inside of your tounge it wouldnt stop bleeding, and you would have to go to the hospital to get the thing fixed. but yeah anything else you need to know just pm me :)

and yes you will have a lisp for the first few weeks untill you get used to the bar being in your mouth.

Tongue takes anywhere from days 4 to heal to 6 weeks. usual healing time is 2 weeks. Hiding a tongue ring from yourparents is silly. there just as obvious as any other piercing. You cant take tongue jewlery out your tongue swells too much, and if you take it out it will close over. straight away. Different people can talk with tongue piercings different people cant, but in my experience with piercing venoms, most come out talking retarded.

Venoms are alot harder to heal then a normal one, double the pressure, double the swelling double the healing time. If you want venoms get them done 6-8 weeks apart, otherwise there both the same.

Remember. Your tongue is the dirtiest place to ever get pierced, if your not good with a cleaning routine dont get it done. It will just cause you trouble. You need to clean a tongue ring every 2-3 hours (after meals)

How did you manage to hide a labret piercing from your parents?

I always notice people have their tongues pierced.. ?

And my bros friend had a bad piercer and his tongue split in two I guess..had to have emergency surgery .. and he took the bar out... :S

ick.

I like the way they look sometimes but not for myself.

i hid the labret by only keeping the jewellery in without the ball/spike at the end, and i had pierced it myself with a safety pin [say what you want] so i was able to make it so that the hole was hidden under my lip.

i've got pictures, seeing as loads of people asking me how i could possibly hide such a piercing for 2 years.

why would you pierce it with a safety pin?

Not only is it not hygeinic, you dont know where any nerves are Piercers dont just pierce anywhere. Also, what happened when you went to go and get jewlery a safety pin isnt the same thickness as a labret bar. Unless you were putting in an ear lobe stud.

Just pay the $60 its not that much

Okay. It will swell up like a motherfucker. You will have a lisp for the first week. Maybe forever depends on the person. You wont be able to hind it and it will majorly wreck your teeth.
