second of all: back then, films like The Evil Dead were being made, so dont tell me Friday the 13th was the quinessence of what could be done in the genre of horror. even before then films like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Dawn of The Dead were being made, who's special effects were not only much better than anything Halloween could cook up, but also werent the driven force of the film.
