Well the new school year will be here for me in about 2 weeks. there arent really any major styles out right now ((like last year we had gautchos, but now theres nothing new)). Me and my friend were talking about wearing pumps to school instead of the basic heel. Pumps are the shoe that business women wear with a nice suit or celebrities wear with like some jeans or something. WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK about the whole idea, and what would you wear with them?

ok, number one.... gauchos are not a trend. they're a mistake.
two... what do you mean there are no big trends? skinny jeans, layered shirts, oversized knit tops, slim pancil skirts, tights, those cumberbund-ish belts..... i could keep going forever.
and three, yes, pumps and jeans are always a sensible choice one can either dress up or down easily. they're perfect for being out all day to have an easy day to night transition.

That'd be cool. But, if you guys walk around a lot in school, make sure you get comfy ones, otherwise your feet will be dead.

yep you can wear pumps with jeans and a cute top. It'll look great, but like vanillapolkadot said, get comfy ones!!

im not trying to stereotype or generalize, but the AVERAGE black person down here dont wear skinny jeans or oversized shirts layers and tights.

i'm just reiterating this seasons styles because you said there weren't any trends this year, and i wanted you to know that there were. they weren't necessarily suggestions for what YOU should wear, just ideas about what's out there.

It's school. They're fucking hallways not runways. You're there to learn, not make a fashion statement. Go in some damn t-shirts and jeans and get over it.

I do care about how I look, at appropriate times. When I'm going out on the weekend with friends or on a date I'll spend some time on my appearance. But in school that was the MOST annoying thing...seeing the girls walking around all dressed up looking uncomfortable as hell, but "cute." (Not saying I thought they looked cute, but they seemed to) It's unnecessary to spend an hour getting ready for school or obsessing over what to wear. It's SCHOOL. Go learn something.

Eh, just make sure they're comfy.
Because as everyone else said, your feet will be dead.

School isnt just school, its SCHOOL. its so much more. Its basically the social even for the season for the first 3 weeks. and im not just looking for new styles for that. IM going to be going to the movies and hang outs and stuff and im going to have to look good then right? i bet you looked horrible when you went to school. But uhuh not me. THats where u meet the majority of the people you know. Its important to look good. Otherwise you get talked about and ridiculed.

ok, i totally agree with looking good for school, cause you see like 2/3 of your friends there on a daily basis.... but come on. if that's "the social event of the season" you need to get out some more.

I bought some random ugly prune-colored pumps. The color didn't go with anything, but they were comfy... so I splattered them with white and yellow paint.

They're quite rad.
