Ok. I just turned 14 about a month ago. I am 5'9 tall and that is about normal right? i dont have a problem with my height its just that i have to wear long pants and i can never find tops short enough to not look dumb... i have a really short torso and really long legs so i look dis proportional... Does anyone know how i can make my legs look shorter and my torso look longer?
i really want some help so when i go back to school i dont look dumb because i already stick out in my class as the youngest so i dont want to stand out any more...
any advice is welcome.. thanks

aww don't worry two much. heaps of girls would kill too be 5'9 and have long legs.
me welll. im 6ft, so i understand the whole long pants thing. i have a long torso and long legs so this makes it hard. to make your legs look shorter just where flats, not shoes with a heel. and short skirts make your legs look longer so pencil skirts are great for long legs. but it depends on your style. hope this can help a bit. oh and you are normal hun.
X.

You're very tall for your age actually. Most people are only about 5'5" at 14. I know what its like though, beause Im 17 and 5'10". Most people would kill to be as tall as you. Being tall means pretty much anything suits us.

Vertical stripes on your top half are meant to be good to elongate it, if you like stripes lol, as well as your posture would make a big difference. I think also if you try not to wear really patterned tops, that would also give the illusion of a longer torso... I'm just guessing here lol. Being tall isn't a bad thing, i'm 16 and 5"1 and people like to take the piss out of my stumpiness lol, so celebrate it :D xx

I have a friend who is 6 ft. tall.
She wears flowy skirts that go to about the middle of her calf.
And then polos/nice tops.
The trick is to wear the skirt as low as possible, and get shirts that are kind of tight fitting, because they tend to be shorter.
Avoid wearing high heels, just wear flat shoes/flip flops.

Haha. I've been 5'3" and 1/2 since 8th grade. (Now a junior) I'll be lucky if I grow more. Be glad you're a nice height.
However, I have the same problem. All my height is in my legs and I have a very short waist. I try to find longer shirts, like the empire waist shirts and what not. Lowrise jeans work well too. Then again, I'm no fashion expert, as I wear only what's comfy and then looks good. Such as old soccer tees or horse tees. But buy larger sizes in shirts. They'll shrink in the wash anyways, so you might get a little extra length from them. Or just look for extra-longs.
As someone else said, avoid heels and short skirts.
Good luck.

uhmmm, no
most people are only 5'5 period
most girls dont grow much after they're 14 so she`s not tall for her age, she`s just tall.
I don't know where you got that last part. Girls tend to keep growing until they're 18-21, the age varies depending on the person.

um... im not that tall if you look at my class... but i guess i am also the youngest in my class, but i am in the taller third i guess...
thanks for all the help you guys...
o and i hate being tall by the way... i was in the shorter third probably of my grade a year and a half ago and then i had like a major growth spurt in my legs only and i had to totally replace everyone of my pants because they were high waters all of the sudden... but everyone is like you are so tall blah blah blah! i hate it! but there is this other girl in my grade that is a month older than me that has been about 6 ft tall for like 3 or 4 years... it is NUTS!
i dont know though, my whole school is around the same hight and we all are tall i guess if i am tall... maybe its the water... jk but i dont know
thanks again for all the advice, ill try to remember the no heels thing but that will suck... i wear heels almost every day so ill have to get used to flats...
i just bought a new pair of jeans of a brand i have never bought before and i had to get double longs! this sucks!

oh yea since you have a small torso, wear those long shirts (wife beaters), old navy sells them especially long
