I just got my belly button pierced two days ago and i'm leaving for a trip tomorrow, will my belly button ring sound off the metal detector thing at the air port?

it will go off...cause its real metal....duh they cant put a plastic one in so to Detroitgirl1 there is no suck thing as in putting a different one in..the reason why they put metal in is so it wont stick on to plastic and some peoples skin doesnt react to plastic good..... so leave in your belly button ring and make sure that you clean it out ever day! and dont change it for abuot 3 months until its all betterand there is no redness......

Probably, but who cares?
Take it out, go through the detector, put it back in.

okay your not going to want to take it out cause if you just got it done than it can easly get dirt inside... and it will close fast....

if it goes off just tell them you have it in and youll be fine... thell run that stick thingy over you and as long as thats the only thing metal on you youll be fine

OK WOW. everyone, it will not go off. the amount of metal is not enough AT ALL to set off a metal detector. DO NOT take it out, you must leave it in for 4-6 months, or you may damage the tissue, causing your piercing to reject (grow out) or rip through. i have my tongue and bellybutton pierced, and neither have EVER caused a metal detector to go off!! don't worry, i thought the same thing, however, it's not true at all. =]
