I've got a bunch of hypertrophic scars I want to fade, and I've also heard that cocoa butter is best. I haven't tried it yet though.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the lotions and such to work?

there is this stuff called bio-oil and it works really good for things like stretch marks and scars. but i'm not sure if you have it in the states. X
