I thought the third one was gunna be them trying to bring him back, Pirates is his film you cant take him out of it, there wont be so many people watching it if he doesnt come back, he makes the movie good.

But...in the movie, they're going like, on a quest to find him, aren't they?

They wouldn't base a whole other movie on finding Jack Sparrow and then not have him in it.

The point of the third one is to bring him back and have the final battle.

The plot synopsis says he's in it.

Its filming at the moment, and the cast Johnny Depp is in the cast, at no point did he say Dead Man's Chest would be his last one :S

The third movie is called At World's End, and Chow Yun-Fat is in it. FTW.

It wasn't all that great, really. But I liked that Geoffrey Rush came back at the end. And he finally got a bite of that apple.

fanfuckingtastic film, a total one-up on the original, great plot, great preformances, even from Kiera Knightly and Orlando Bloom, Depp was great as usual, and the twist at the end had me jumping out of my seat. i went in with a worried attitude, but all my hopes were fufilled and then some, the plot didnt seem tacked on, the characters were all expanded upon and the set-up for the third is killing me, however, the third film has already been shot, and is currently in post-production as far as i know.

all in all, a great time, very worthy of the praise it's been getting.

I wish Zoe Saldana could have come back though... I'm a huge Jack/Ana shipper.

the did it with the monkey. in voodoo, you need a part of a person to bring them back to life, and that monkey was the key.

Well at the end they all agreed to go find Jack Sparrow, so I figure that's what the 3rd movie's gonig to be about.

Too much happened for me to take it all in. It's one of those movie syou have to buy and watch a few times before you understand it all. I have to watch the first one again, too because I forgot a lot of key points. It was kind of confusing.

alright a couple quick comments on this post:

1: richards WILL be in the third pirates, the film has been shot, and he is in it as jacks dear old dad.
2: you are looking WAY too deep into a film franchise that really doesnt have much depth and is comfortable with that. who cares how he got there? what was there to take in? this franchise is popcorn in the sctrictest sense, and thus theres really nothing to miss here.

If you watch (or you might just want to ffwd) the credits on the dvd of COTBP, there's a little clip at the end which will show you how the monkey is still cursed ;) It's kind of common knowledge amongst potc fans....

you people are looking way too deep into a plot that has no depth. POTC, as great as the movies are, are popcorn. fluffy, shallow, fattening tastey popcorn. the plots are interesting enough but really not the point. these are adventure films, who cares HOW jack got the pearl? who cares HOW the monkey is still cursed? they just are, so sit back and enjoy.

Yeah, my friend's sister stayed til the end so when i saw it a second time, i was sure something was going to happen that would clue me in to what's going to happen in the third one. But it was just the dog! How dumb is that?

But yeah, the movie was so good that I saw it twice! Hee hee. The only part i hate is where Davy Jones makes Bootstrap lash Will. Made me cry both times!

everybodies being so mean to poor Will. I think ièm the only one annoyed with the elizabeth character. I like keira knightly fine, but I just cringe when i imagine Elizabeth and Jack together. It makes you feel like the whole first movie was just bullshit, with the "I love you and i'm going to sacrifice my life to save you." oh well. My kind is probably the minority anyway. I won't let it ruin the movie.

BTW I really liked the parts with Will's dad. I just thought it was a really sad and interesting story. And Davy Jones was a very good villain also. And Jack Sparrow= love.

Actually, they filmed poct2 and 3 one right after the other. just like Orlando Bloom did in Lord of the Rings. Johnny has been quoted saying he loves the part as Jack Sparrow and really hated the last 10 days of filming poc3 because he knew it was the last time he'd get to be Jack. Plus I already know the basic jist of the 3rd movie and Johnny is in it. He has to be...the movie would suck without the infamous Jack Sparrow.

As far as sequals are concerned, it is probably one of the best sequals i've ever seen. Not many sequals live up to the first movie. Now, having said that, i still do believe the first one was better only because it was origional and it was something different and yes it was a lil bit funnier.

I do like the part where they did the paprika (sp?). That was funny. And the part where they did the 'hide the rum' from elizabeth.

I didnt like the ending because yes, it was a cliffhanger, but i do understand that they did it to keep the audience coming back for the 3rd one.

Overall, very good movie. I went and saw it the first day and waited for an hour and a half in line to get into the theatre but bought tickets to see it that morning.

And yes, to answer someones question--kiera knightley was very hot just like she was in the first one.
