It looks and tastes more like ham than it does traditional bacon.

It's from another part of the pig. It's thicker,more healthy for you and usually it has cornmeal around the outside of it.

okay, look im an apprentice chef, oaky here ishow it goes. there 'bacon' which is average look at all the gross fat on the edges. but most bacon associated as "canadian bacon" is sent to the united states which is the premium meat off of the pig thats packaged and sent to the USA. the crappy leftovers are though left here in canada... grr.

I've never had Canadian Bacon, I'm not sure it's something I'd like, I stick to my bacon, panchetta and proscuitto.
