so i was watching something on food network the other morning and they were speaking on the best of kosher foods. They brought up something about this rabbi coming in to check the food every once in a while to see if it was with the rules so then i guessed it was somethng jewish then. So then what i wanted to find out is what kind of foods usually fall under this heading "kosher" Anyone knows?

Kosher can refer to a lot of things. Meat, especially, can either be kosher or not depending on the slaughter and such. Some kinds of meat are never kosher (ie pork, certain seafoods) If something has dairy and animal (except fish, for some reason, doesn't count) products then it won't be kosher. That's really all I know and my family is jewish, so. :P

Kosher foods are foods that can be eaten under Jewish law.

My Dad used to be a Kosher butcher (although he isn't jewish) and I can tell you now, most of the meat ROCKS.
