Hey guys. I'm a little curious on this subject. For the previous 4-5 years, every summer i try to get in the sun to get a little darker, most noteably on my upper arms and chest and back and legs. My face is dark and my lower arms are darker with my forearms about as white as my chest. Now, I've been trying to get in the sun to even my body out with the same color as my arms, but I just really dont have the patience. I'd probably keep doing it every day its summer (get out in the sun and sit for like half an hour-45 minutes per day, but i just dont have the patience.

What I was thinking, for an alternative, was a tanning bed. Now, the only real problem with this is that people might call me a "pretty boy" for doing this. But, is that really true? Are there other guys that are 17 years old that go into tanning beds? I hope so, so that I'm not one of a kind.

How do they work? Do you pay a certain amount of money per darkness you want applied or what? And about how much does it cost? Are they real expensive? Thanks guys and girls, I would really appreciate it.

I've gone a few times. If it's important to you, by all means--do it. You would usually pay a certain fee for the amount of visits you'd make, an average of about $5 (or less) per trip. It's a decent alternative, and it's a lot faster. The only thing that I really dislike about tanning beds are, the uneven paler areas on my sides, under where my arms would be if i were lying down.

But, hey. Give it a shot, man.
