Spring Rolls,Won Ton soup ,Veggie Chow Mein, Kung Pow Chicken and masses of prawn crackers makes for the best meal known to man, especially if the take out comes with a couple of fortune cookies to top off the meal.

What we refer to as "chinese food" is actually closer to polynesian cuisine. Real chinese food (the type sered in china) is quite a bit different. Only on holidays do they eat the type of foods we call "chinese food". Actual average day chinese cuisine is not all that great...

give me polynesian/american chinese food any day though. General Tso anyone? Lo mein? Eggroll? YEY!

I've never ate Chinese in my life. I tasted like a string of meat and not even a spoonful of fried rice and I hated it. It doesn't look tasty and I don't really want to try it.

I don't think I'd like realAsian food, because I usually never like any type of authentic food. I don't have very adventurous tastes, and I'm trying to work through that but so far I haven't done too well. I'll probably always perfer the American bastardization of Chinese food.

Chinese is food is very good, but its indian food that is the true asian bollocks.

And i was just wondering. Is the word "chinky" offensive to chinese people?

rocin_rabbit
10-01-2006, 04:34 PM
i love it
DUH
i eat it everyday

but believe me
the real thing isnt really half as fanciful as you guys might think
and we dont have all the grand things like peking duck or won ton soup or what have you on general meals!

Most Chinese restaurants here serve westernised Cantonese food which isn't really very good ie. sweet and sour chicken etc.
The closest you get to real Chinese food is probably dim-sum.

Love an aul three in one out of the local chinese. Rice, chips and curry sauce mixed together or else a nice chicken curry or special szhewaun or beef szhewaun (sp?)

CHA SIU FAN. KING OF ALL FOOD.

You guys do realise the most authentic dim sum is from Hong Kong, stuff in China is different.

The stuff you get in the US and UK is westernised and is slightly different, I enjoy all so I don't care.
