I just watched it.
It’s a movie about junkies.
It is the most intense movie I have ever seen. I cried, and I barely ever cry in movies. I have an uncle who's a heroin addict... Pretty fucked up shit. That kind of stuff is kind of why I picked the picture I did. You can see it in his eyes... The madness surrounding the craving for euphoria amazes me. Anyways.
Who knew Jared Leto could act? I didn't.
Insightful movie. See it.

Um, there's much more to it than drugs.
I cried at the end when Harry lost his arm and realized he had nothing left. His only request couldn't be granted and to me that's a punch in the chest.
The streets always fail you. The part at the end where they went to visit Sara in the mental ward made me fucking cry a river....it was so damn tear-jerking to see the transformation that woman went through...then her friends crying on the park bench. :(
To me, the movie represents the extremes people go through to achieve what they consider "happiness".
The effects were brilliantly done for such a "mediocre-budget" film. The director really got his point across with the assistance of an outstanding cast.
A must see. Don't rent it, buy it.

Yeah, Requiem For A Dream is one of the best movies i've seen for sure. It gets pretty hard to watch near the end, and yes it is very sad, but it's one amazing movie. The acting was incredible and the direction was perfect.

It's one of my favourites, and depressing which is fab, love depressing films. Make sure you see the uncut version instead of the normal version.
Read the book also that it's adapted from.
The score music to the film is just stunning as well, really raises the sadness level of the film, especially in the mental ward scene you mentioned Naz.
The director of the film Darren Aronofsky is fantastic and loved watching his work with this film, if you haven't checked out one of his other brilliant films do, it's called Pi.
He also co wrote and produced an excellent psychological horror called Below.
It Missed out at doing well at the cinema because it was released with the crap Ghost Ship.
To me Requiem For A Dream is the best film showing addiction in a surreal matter, much better than Trainspotting in the cinematography department.
A film that leaves you thinking a lot.

It's asigned in my class... I don't know, keeping kids off drugs or some shit.
I think I'll stay away from heroin.

I know I have a pretty cool school.. We get to request a movie for the class to watch and then we talk about it.
I don't know what to request though.. (A girl named Lisa already requested requiem for a dream.)
