The remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has been finally fullfilled atlast. Arriving in the theatres late last year. Many hardcore fans said "Forget that piece of shit, I'm sticking with the original" and left it at that. I however went and watched the opening night. It was'nt what I was really hoping for, but of course who could expect it to really surpass the original. That shit happens less than winning the lottery and getting by lightning twice all in the same day. Don't get me wrong though. The original TCM would not be easy to out due for any movie. The new TCM is actually pretty good. The best movie to come out since either the LOTR:1 or the Matrix. This movie did go in more depth with what the family is like and how they lure people to their death. The sheer volume of peoples' body parts they show in Thomas Hewitts basement is a little overwhelming but it is note worthy indeed. Personally the more carnage the better in my opinion. The darkness of this version makes you feel like these people "truley are evil" and have no sense of humanity. The new actor for Thomas Hewitt a.k.a Leatherface is a lot better than Gunner, and is a little better at making the character look like he has a emotional pallete behind the mask. The only thing that pissed me off was the fact that he didn't lick his tongue out through the masks mouth, like the original. All in all this movie is atleast a B movie. I suggest renting before you would go out and buy it. I give this movie an unoffical 8/10. -SweetTooth
