...and came across about over 20 overweight women wearing low-rise jeans and shirts that show their stomach. Not to be mean or anything, but it's quite disgusting and I don't know how they can walk out of the house looking the way they do. Do these women actually think they look good in what they put on, or is this just a confidence booster?

Your thoughts?

I think it's discusting when I see fat women with tops that show of all their tummy and all that stuff you mentioned. Fat women, and men, should accept they are fat and that nobody else wants to see there fat hanging out.

One time at the mall I saw like a 60 year old wearing the smallest skirt ever, and a tiny ass tank top. I mean wtf, her boobs were sagging down to her knees, and she was wearing tighter clothes then I do. Grosss.

Not a very pleasant sight at all.

Why not? To be honest, I don't think they really care what other people think. Its great that they can go out with self confidence like that and be happy with themselves. What you find to be unflattering may be attractive to someone else. They probably aren't oblivious to the fact that they aren't thin and they're getting attention, but why should they change because other people don't look the way they dress? I agree that some people can go overboard with all of this, but I don't see why I have the right to judge them.

It shouldn't bother me. It really, really shouldn't. But it does. If my body isn't perfect I don't go out like that, I work until it is. But they just go out without a care in the world of who's judging them. Confidence is sexy. Insecurities are not. However, neither are fat people, no matter how confident they are or how short their skirt is. It's not that difficult to go on a fucking diet or to the gym! Why don't they? I don't know, but unlike others, I don't admire them, I think they're repulsive.

dude sum of u guys r being a little harsh. sum overweight ppl have problems that make it really really tuff for them to lose weight. Also its not theirs fault that society makes basically only low rise jeans. sure i love low rise jeans, but the obv. dont flatter sum ppl, yet it dont think i really ever see jeans that arent low rise nemore. Since alot of the world(one big place is us americans) is becoming overweight then they would make the jeans that go up higher. n also the awesome stores mainly sell slutty clothes, or clothes that dont look good on other ppl. n losing weight can be difficult, every1 knows that, u can tell by how many ppl come on here n say how can i lose weight etc.

Well, I don't know where you're shopping because as of this year, low rise jeans are pretty much out of style, like flare jeans. But yes, fashion has never been too kind to fat people. Neither has heart disease, ut the fuckers just keep the Big Macs comming now don't they?

Sounds like me the other day. I was at the beach and this really fat woman walked past wearing this tiny string bikini. I mean, this bikini was smaller than the one I was wearing! I was so disgusted I looked right at her and gave her the most obvious look of disgust (which I didnt realize I was doing until it was too late) and she gave me the snobbist look of false confidence ever.

That being said, I think it was a defence mechanism. She acts all confident because she expects that she'll be looked at in disgust so she plays it off as jealousy from the other person. It's her way of protecting herself.

Hm. Maybe I should be a psychologist.

marilyn_monroe
06-18-2006, 09:29 PM
Actually, I think that it's not so much she thinks it's jealousy, as it is that she denys the looks of disgust. Maybe you're right on this one, and she did act that way, but with the ones I've seen, it's more of an "I'm as pretty as the next girl, and Ican pull this bikini off just as much as she can, even if she's thin". Denial. But what I hate most is when they want to trick people into thinking they're attractive by saying "Ewwww! Look at that girl! She's like a stick. I'd NEVER want to be that thin". When all they want is to have her body.

lol um ok.

I think it is disgusting. I mean I really don't want to see that. I mean Do I really need to see rolls overflowing their shirts and shirts that are so tight you see the rolls through it. And I am not talking about the people that are just slightly chubby. BEcause maybe they are just built that way. But it you are seriuosly overweight you really should do something abou it. It is unhealthy and disgusting(unless you have a health problem) and if you are gonna keep that weight then please do not show off your unhealthiness to the world.

It doesn't bother me anymore.

If they are comfortable enough with their bodies to be able to walk outside looking the way that they look, good for them. Unfortunately, most of us don't have the confidence to do the same - even when we're not overweight.

Word - ed.
I went to the mall today, and there were about 10 - 15 overweight women there that were over 40 years old, wearing halter tops. It's gross. I mean, I don't care if they're overweight or not. But if they are wearing clothing that should be reserved for teens & twenty - year olds' than that's just gross. They should wear clothing that compliments their style, shape & age instead of making them older & grubbier looking. They look very desperate because of that.

Chimere
06-18-2006, 10:33 PM
It is a complete turn off for me personally but I couldn't care.In my mind they have the same right to wear the same types of clothing as people half their size. It's their body, their dignity. If they have no self-respect then so be it.Then they can't complain about the ridicule directed towards them because of it.

It's possible to be slightly heavier and still dress in a flattering way. And that doesn't mean showing off all your excess skin, that's kind of gross. But I have seen the occasional heavy girl who actually looks really good because she knows how to dress and isn't squeezing herself into something that clearly doesn't even fit.

Having said that I'm a horrible, horrible person. I went out to a show tonight and there was a girl I decided I hated, then realized the only reason I didn't like her was because she was fat. I don't even know why she in particular bothered me. Maybe because like three of me could've stood in the space she was talking up...

I'm going to hell.

Exactly.

There are some nice looking styles for overweight women, but when they try fitting into uber short shorts and a tank top, it looks kinda...blegh.

Quit contradicting yourself. You're complaining that it's disgusting that they're fat is hanging out. That's physical. Not health. Is walking out of the house in the summer with a tank top a health issue? No. It isn't. These people could be perfectly healthy for all you know. You don't care about their health and it's 100% obvious. You can argue the point forever and the fact remains that you can't prove that they're unhealthy.

I mean think about it if you were to see 20 skinny ass girls walking down the street would you be coming here to complain and say it's disgusting. And that they need to be concerned about their health. I think not. Because it doesn't concern you. The only thing that concerns you is how they look and how it disgusts you that they look like that.

Sweetie2010

i agree w/ wink 100%! she makes a very good point. u nv could prove they have health issues or not unless u asked them or their doc. u just care that u think they look gross, n u think they shouldnt be aloud to wear clothes like all of us can just because they r a little bit bigger. o big deal, wht r u gonna be against next blondes? u could say they r dangerous to them selves so they shouldnt be aloud to be chefs. or red heads- there a danger to others because of the glare there hair gives off so they shouldnt be aloud to come out when the suns out. I mean get real?
