hey im getting a tattoo and was wondering on what peoples view was on the pain on a scale of 1 to 10......... 10 being making you cry!!! please reply thanks xxxxmwahxxxx

I have a tatoo. A little love heart on the side of my hip. Yes i got it done under age. Yes it was a stupid thing to do. It didnt hurt that much but mine is only a small one its kinda of like a needle been scrapped on ya but harder.

My friend described it as a burning hott knife going through her lower back.
Yeah, and she said it hurt more then anything else she has ever done.. And she's gone through labor.
So yeah, but it also depends on teh size of it and ect.

If you can stand a burning needle type dealy being pushed through your skin and ejecting ink then by all means, it's not that bad, do it!

Its a needle piercing your skin with ink...its kind of gonna hurt.

I've heard it hurts, but it also depends on your pain tolerance. If you have a high pain tolerance then it shouldnt hurt.

Its different for everyone..It depends on your pain tolerance, and the place you put it..Some places are more sensitive than others. I didnt really find it painfull when I got mine..Slightly uncomfortable maybe..i'd give it a 2, max..

If it's your first tattoo then yes it will hurt incredibly bad. If you have a low tolerance for pain then you are fucked. Basically like sticking a burning hot knife dripping with ink into your skin. For people who have had many of them done it doesn't hurt as much. I've known people who have many tattoos and go to get another one and actualy fall asleep on the table.

you can't just ask if a tattoo's going to hurt. everyone has different tolerances of pain. i have a shitload of friends who have tattoos and some of them claim it doesn't hurt, some of them claim it's tolerable, and some claim that it was a horrible experience.

not only that, but it depends where you get the tattoo. there's different areas of the body that are more sensitive than others, so the pain will greatly depend on just where you get it. if you're really that wary of the pain, i'd suggest you get an asshat tattoo.

and, with all that excused, it also depends on how big the tattoo is and how long it'll take to get done. some people that get big tattoos only get a certain amount of the tattoo done during one day and will come back either a day or even a few weeks later to have it finished.

but honestly, the biggest complaint i hear about tattoos is only when they start. most people describe it as excessive pinches that are hard, but eventually that area of your body becomes numb. the most bitching i've heard about the pain of tattoos is when they stop in middle of it and rub your skin/stretch it, because the skin's already irritated/sensitive. btw, they do this to make sure that the tattoo itself won't stretch and the color won't crack.

ps. if you are going to get a tattoo, do some background research on the artist who'll be giving it to you. there's a lot of mediocre tattooists out there. i'd suggest finding someone that has a tattoo and that's really nicely done and ask who they got it done by and just go to that person.

Like everyone else has said, it does depend on your pain tolerance the most, as well as what place you get it in...and somewhat on how big it is and how much detail is to the tat. i got mine on the back of my shoulder which wasnt bad at all, but i've heard that if you get it on your spine--mainly your lower spine, it hurts the most.

it hurt less den i fort it wud lol it is painfull but not dat much. but sayin dat ppls pain thresh holds r different aint dey?!! if da tattooist is gd den he'll give u a small tester 2 make sure ur k wiv da pain :) x x x x

They do hurt but after awhile the area starts to go a little numb and it hurts a tad less

i have one ((kanji symbol for angel)), middle of my shoulder blades, it didnt hurt to bad. my sis's both have tattoo's, one has one on her rist she said that didnt hurt.... the oher has it ((not sure wat u call it)) but where they take blood outta ya arm, she said that hurt

the pain of a tattoo is directly related to the person getting tattooed. mostly it's just irritating, having something poke you over and over again, but eventually your body just gets used to it. and it may hurt you, but once the needle is off of the skin, the pain goes away.

anyhow on a scale of one to ten i give tattoos a 2, if even that. i got my septum pierced though, and that pain was ridiculous, just to give you some sort of insight to my pain tolerance.

Mine's pretty small...it's a spider on my hip...

It hardly hurt at all...It hurt less than an earlobe piercing...I was laughing with relief while it was being done because I thought it was going to kill, and it didn't.

9 out of 10 of mine were nothing...There's a pain but a good pain I guess...I love getting them done (obviously lol)...I've fallen asleep through some of them lol...My 10th was a huge one on my calf with lots of detail over base color...It was 7 hours on the chair under the needle so yea, that one hurt like a bitch lol.
But like everyone said above, it's different for everyone.

Why would I be lying by saying that I didnt think it hurt that much at all? I happen to have experienced it that way. Like everyone above had allready said, its about tollerance, and you obviously dont have much of that...

well i can tolerate quite alot of pain!!! if its lyk being poked reli hard i shud be alryt!!! cos i stabbed my foot with a hay fork at the stables and it went thru my boot and into my foot and i didnt even no it had gone into my foot till i got home!!!! and its lefty a pretty mean scar!!!

two of my friends have just had afew done. one had one on her hip, she said that killed, and the one on her boob... but she had one on her lower back and she said it didn't hurt at all!! my other friend had a huge one on her lower back done and she said that it just tickled. they both said they nearly fell asleep lol. it just kills on the sides!!

so it depends where you have it really!!

I have 3 tatoos I didn't think it hurt that bad...and I'm only 15 so someone a little older should beable to handle it.

I have 6 tattoos. During my first one, I cried a little, but only because the sound of the gun kinda scared me. 3 of my other 5 didn't hurt, but the 2 remaining ones(on my ankles) hurt a little because they're on my ankle bones. But it does have a lot to do with pain tolerance.

I have a smiley face on my big toe. It was just to dots and a curved line, and it hurt

well what sort of pain wud you youd have to be able to tolerate?? is there anything tht hurts more than a tattoo??

Personally, I'd rather get a tattoo then get my legs waxed. A lot of girls would probably disagree, but I have 6 tattoos already, so I'm kinda used to the pain, but I've only just recently started getting my legs waxed. I used to shave. But yeah, there's a lot of things that are more painful than getting a tattoo.

well waxing dont hurt me at all its easier than shaving!
