It is a very easy task to setup any gaming console. They've made it easier over time too. Read your instruction booklet or look about on Google.

i havent been introduced to computers until 5th grade. i didnt grow up wit it like you. and i dont have the instructions anymore

I don't use a Console, but i know how to set one up, its very simple, its as easy as setting up a VCR or a Digital Set Top Box.

erm, have you tried looking at the back of the console? i beleive the connections are labelled and each cable will only go into 1 socket on the back, so the AV cable to the TV(thats the one with a Red/White/Yellow end and a black end) will go into the long thin AV socket on the console, and the 3 composite connections onto your TV. The power lead goes into the power socket and the controller plugs into one of the connections on the front(not the memory stick slot)

please explain why you would want to connect an xbox to a dvd player or a vcr?
try plugging them into the tv seeing as thats what youre going to want the xbox to play on

not only that, but the VCR/DVD/STB all goes through SCART, if i remember rightly, consoles generally go through Coaxial(the aerial socket). Although my PC goes through SCART so if i only had 1 SCART on my TV i'd have to run it through my VCR.
